Ever watch that
commercial where the construction guys are watching the girls walk by
and they are just watching, nothing said, but then a chubby, balding
man walks by with a bag of Arby's and the construction crew starts
whistling? Funny, yet it certainly made me hungry. So there I go, off
to Arby's to buy me a Double Bacon Cheddar Melt with curly fries and a
large Root Beer. Ahhh (in deep satisfaction). Ahhhhh!!! (as I am trying
to fit into a dress for my brother's wedding). Someone
once told me,
"I wouldn't necessarily call yourself fat, you just need
to trim up!"
Trim up? Like a Christmas Tree? I haven't a clue
where to start. Maybe you can help me?
My main focus is my abs (I had a C-section with my first child so that needs to get firmed), and then the back of my legs and the back of my arms. I've been doing about 40 crunches, 50 leg ups (on each leg), and 50 twists a day, about 30 minutes each day. On top of cleaning my house like a mad woman every morning from 8am-10am (it really is a workout mopping and vacuuming), then walking my dog or the track every other day. I work at home so my job doesn't bring me out of the house much and I do a lot of sitting.
I need a good plan, a schedule that a work at home mom can accomplish
with three kids, and I need a diet to go with it. I don't do the gym because I don't want to spend money to make myself physically content. What has worked for you,
if any. What have you read, what links would you suggest, what DvDs?
Any suggestions starting today, will help me on my way.

Lol to the beginning of your post!!! Whatever you do decide....always enjoy it...I just walk the dog....but that does nothing for my abs
happy fathers day to ur husband!
i do need to tight my flabby abs as well.
I love Arby's!
Sorry, I can't be much help here. I am in the process of losing weight, but I need more than just a trim! :)
Now I'm hungry and miss Arby's, your post certainly works just as good as the commercial
Your pic doesn't look like you need to do anything about your look but if you're really searching for something: Pilates might work. Though personally, I fell in love with wii fit.
After I recovered from my c-section, I took up Egyptian belly dancing
My MIL got me interested in belly dancing while I was pregnant and I've found it to be a really great way to exercise. Not to mention the hubby thinks it's pretty awesome too
I was going to suggest belly dancing as well. I know there are some belly dancing videos at the library on our base, so maybe you can check out your library and see if you have any. or try Ebay. I can't wait to try it myself after the little one is born.
Go to PT with your husband! *grin*
I have found a great yoga/pilates video at Target....it is the 10 minute solution. There are 6 sections on the tape and you can choose 1 or line then up in segments (the DVD has these options), which will enable you to do 10 minutes at a time or 30 minutes here and 10 minutes there. It has been a lifesaver with my schedule and leaves me feeling relaxed. I do cardio a couple of days a week but the yoga/pilates really helps tone me as well as works on my flexibility.
Thanks for your post - but I agree with "bendecida83" - your picture on your profile doesn't look like you need to do anything at all...

My job has me walking and standing 3 times a week, 8.5 hours - I sit for only about half an hour while having my lunch... I get my exercise there. Other than that, I don't really bother...
For me, my biggest problem is discipline. I rely heavily on housework and my job to get the exercise I require.
Finding what you like to do and doing just that is what works for me..
I love to dance so i find dance classes helpful since i have fun doing it and it helps me shed some weight.. I'm still in progress of reaping it's rewards.. so I'll let you know if it really works though.. =)
For those of you in desperate need like myself, I found this article: http://health.yahoo.com/experts/healthieryou/3577/the-only-ab-movement-youll-ever-need/
Has anyone tried Hip Hop Abs? www.HipHopAbs.com? And if so, were the results good? I think I might buy it.
Last year when my husband deployed, I hired a personal trainer. It worked out great. We had weekly appts so I HAD to go. My problem is the motivation to get there and since I was paying money to someone to help me, I felt that I had to go. I signed a contract for a year. My trainer showed me some great weight lifting and ab routines and I lost a lot of inches and I only trained with her 30 minutes once a week. The rest of the week I was on my own doing what she had shown me. A great thing I learned too is that if you do cardio for atleast an hour, you will definately lose some inches. For abs, she had me do a variety of things. I would lay on the edge of the weight bench, roll up a little to flatten the small of my back then extend my legs straight up in the air. Once there, then I would roll up on my back to push my legs into the air and then roll back down to make my back flat on the bench with my legs still extended up. I did this 20 times 3 times alternating with some lower ab work by taking my legs down. I would be flat on the bench again with my toes lightly touching the floor and I would pull my knees up about 8-12" and repeat as fast as I could for 20. So all together it was 120 crunches, not hard on your back and it gave you a really good ab workout. That was my favorite ab workout. Now that we have moved, I've started to swim. I really enjoy swimming and I can go forever and not feel like I'm working out. I have about 50 lbs to lose so I want to make it as fun as possible and not feel like a workout. Hope that helps.
