    George Bush is a bigot.

I just watched a video on USA Today showing the hill billy defend his stance on banning gay marriage.  He says marriage is a sacred institution and how it would undermine families and society to change the definition from a man and a woman blah blah blah.

There is an episode of The West Wing called "In This White House."  In it a republican lawyer named Ainsley Hayes (played by Emily Proctor) is offered a job with the legal counsel for President Bartlett.  She is disappointed to be asked to work for this particular president because he is a democrat.  She runs into Sam and Josh in Leo's office and they get into a spat of sorts and she makes this gem of a comment, "This White House that loves the Bill of Rights. All of them, except the second one." She goes on to say that it's not about safety or personal freedoms, they don't like people who like guns.  "You don't like the people. Think about that the next time you make a joke about the south," she says.

George Bush and his republican cronies hate when government gets involved in the lives of the individuals, EXCEPT when it's to deny freedoms to people they don't like.  Discrimination can't be written into The Constitution, it would cause a ripple in the space time continuum and the document would burst into flames!  It doesn't work!

Then in the USA Today, there was an article about the Senate rejecting the ban.  "We were hoping to get over 50%, but that didn't happen today," said Sen. David Vitter, R-La., one of the amendment's supporters. "Eventually, Congress is going to have to catch up to the wisdom of the American people or the American people will change Congress for the better."   The WISDOM of the American people?  I can only shake my head and hope for the evoloution of some virus that kills off all the idiot politicians in the world.

Maybe I can also call my representitives.

    Let's hope.

Tell us how you really feel Beth :D. In all honesty, I completely agree with you. Allowing gay marriage doesn't do anything to hurt anyone. If you are so against gay marriage, then don't marry someone of the same sex as you! How does having gay couples married affect those who are in heterosexual marriages? IT DOESN'T!!!
