I'll start with the beginning (a very good place to start...sorry, I was Maria in the Sound of Music in 7th grade and I can't help the quote). Last Tuesday was my golden birthday. 26 on the 26th. I was awoken by Bill coming into the room at 7:30 with my breakfast in hand, a great cup of coffee and my present. I was in tears while I was opening it. It was so unexpected and so...early...the combo was a one-two-punch to my tear ducts. Part of my gift from him was the new Bridge to Terabithia on dvd. By 10am I'd already watched it in bed...of course I cried at the end. Again.
Wednesday we drove to Jacob's and didn't get in until after midnight. Regrettably we didn't get to spend as much time there as we'd hoped but we got to see some really awesome pictures, the Ewok one being my personal favorite, and the one that looks like he's going to beat us down with a guitar and his perfectly coifed hair. This was also my first chance to meet Matt's girl Shelley who is as sweet and funny as can be.
Thursday we all headed to Yorktown for the beginning of the Courtney and Tim celebration. The guys went deep sea fishing (Bill LOVED it) and the girls sunbathed. Well, the other girls sunbathed and I talked to them and put on lots of sunscreen. One of my favorite memories of the weekend was dancing with all the girls that night at Court's. Another favorite memory would have to be Friday night, sitting under the tent outside while it was raining and just chatting and listening to Courtney's dad tell us about his life.
It felt like the whole 3 days of celebration was part of the wedding...and then we got dressed all fancy to make it official. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen looked wonderful and of course Tim and Courtney were glowing. The reception was beautiful with great food and fun dancing and two of the best and most emotional toasts I've ever heard. Bill and Charlie and I had to cut out at that point because we had church early the next day. It tore me up to leave. I was fighting back tears (and letting several flow) as the goodbyes were said. This is when it really hit me that I don't know when I'll see several of my friends again.
That was bitter-sweet memory part 1.
Part 2 begins on Monday when we saw our family away from family...Jake and Candice Keck!! I hadn't seen them in a year in a half. Bill hadn't seen them in almost that long. Our time together is not often enough and we didn't get enough time together this time. BUT, I did make Jake laugh pretty hard a few times and that is one of my favorite things. I'm going to price our tickets to Vegas, Jake...
Part 3 would be my trip today to visit Teri and Beth and Molly at CIY. Teri and I had a GREAT visit. I wanted to take her back to Knoxville with me.
Part 4 is coming up tomorrow. I will get to see my Cana!!
Well, this is a huge update and I know it can't express how much I loved seeing and being part of your lives this week. I guess it's another reason why I postponed writing this....all my main commentors were out of town, with me!! Please don't let it be too long before I see you again...
I'll leave you with a pic from the wedding, but you'll have to check out my facebook to see the rest:
p.s. I forgot to tell you guys that the guy from the storytelling festival that looks like bill (but not up close) was at I Heart New York Pizza on Tuesday and sat at the table next to me. I pointed and whispered. Sorry Bill.

...HOLA!!!
Betsy, a "few" would be an understatement. But I must tell you my favorite laugh was when I went out to get something from the car and when I came back in you said, "I missed you."
I missed you too Betsy.
Can't wait for you both to come see us. We'll leave the light on for ya...
