Ais Tingkap Penang
I believe its the one and only stall in Penang that sells ais tingkap...
I was at Prangin on Saturday. Bought my dvd's and felt a bit bored so I got out of the building. Oh yes, before that I saw Starbucks sign stating I could get free try-outs for the new Adzuki Ice Blended. Of course I opted for the cream based.
Anyway, got out of the building and walked all the way to Chowrasta Market (along the famous Penang Road) to check if they have the books I wanted. Unfortunately no but I did find something else. The day was sooooo HOT and I was tempted to walk to the Teochew Chendol stall. Haha I refrained myself and kept reminding myself Ais Tingkap, Ais Tingkap, Ais Tingkap....
Boss, ais tingkap satu! *Malay patrons looking at me*
Voila....So refreshing, right amount of sweetness, nice fragrance and fair amount of ingredients inside. Cost only RM1 : ) I would have this over ABC anytime XP
Special wat....Don't you think so?
Yupz, boss ran out of coconut flesh so he hacked one, save the water and scrape the flesh.
This is a mixture of Getah Anggur and Kembang Semangkuk. Jelly like texture. Kembang semangkuk is the brown brown thing one see in "see kuo tn'g".
Its good so I tar pao 2 more balik rumah...nyek nyek nyek.
Well, I just feel its something ABC and Chendol couldn't offer. The Refreshness!
For more information, click on both picture above. The boss gave me the brochure. Apparently, his stall is under Penang Herritage. Good job!
Then I moved over to the cucuk stall....nyek nyek nyek....Its just in front of the ais tingkap stall.
This uncle has been selling this cucur for 35 years 0.0 Mom commented his cucur not bad.
While walking to the back part of Chowrasta Market, I saw this.....
Wonder if the ais tingkap had been taking their ice supply in this store for the past 75 years : P
Happy drooling!
