LEE COUNTY, Fl.: Six teens were arrested for allegedly throwing grapefruit at cars on Summerlin Road near Park Meadows on Friday.

Patrick Naidl called deputies after someone threw an object at his car, damaging the front side window and rear quarter panel.

"My wife actually initially thought it might have been a gunshot. You wouldn't think that citrus fruit could cause that much damage," said Naidl.

The teens arrested were Jonathan Gillis, Nicholas Werth, Alex Krackhardt, Sam Toops, Nick Davila and Jordan Pockrus.

While giving a statement, one of the teens told deputies they would watch for headlights and then throw grapefruit over a wall in an attempt to hit the vehicle. At least two vehicles were struck, but deputies say there could be as many as seven or eight vehicles damaged.

The teens are charged with firing a weapon or missile into a dwelling, vehicle or building.

Deputies believe that the suspect may have done this before because they have been getting reports of fruit thrown at vehicles for weeks now.
