  • Graduation Day

I was so proud to be at my daughter's graduation from college yesterday. She got her Associate Degree in Billing & Coding, but I hope she goes back and get her Bachelors then Masters. My grandson had our camera and he looked like a professional photographer. He cried when he saw her after the ceremony. Happy tears. He was so proud of his Mom.  Trying to raise a child as a single parent working full-time and  going to school isn't an easy thing to do. But she didn't it and now have the degree to prove it.  The ceremony began. The director of the school spoke then she introduce a woman who daughter died 6 months prior to graduation day. The sad part about hearing her speech was hearing that her daughter died by the hand of her husband. He stabbed her to death. Leaving his children without a mother. This man killed a woman who loved him. Who wouldn't leave him even though he was beating her. I almost walk out of the church where the graduation was held. My heart went out to her & her mother who lost her daughter and now will be raising her grandchildren. I'm glad that husband is in jail for what he done. It won't bring the woman back, but at least he is not getting away with murder. 6 months before her graduation! This woman not only was getting one degree she was back in school to get her second degree when she was killed. So the college gave her mother the second degree as an honor.  When I saw the mother afterward. I hug her and didn't want to let her go. She had my deepest symphathy. I started to cry, but if I did I would have made her cry and I didn't want to do that. So, if any one read this and is in an abusive relationship or  you know someone that is being abused please ask them to get help from a friend, a teacher, a shelter, a minister or a policeman. Thre is help out there if you want it. Ask God to help he'll listen. Don't stay for the marriage or the children. Don't let this person constantly torment your life. You deserve better than that.
