I Come Bearing....
A beautiful image or two

This is from a fabulous wedding
Matthew Saville and I shot this past Friday
at the lovely
Rancho Las Lomas (truly an incredible venue).

*geeky details*
Image is nearly straight from the camera, simply upped the contrast
a tiny little bit and outputted. Shot through leaves at F2.8 and around
160mm to get that perspective.
Whaddya Think?
P.S. What would you say if I hired Mary to update this blog a bitmore often for me? I'm so swamped between running two businesses,
traveling and surfing my butt off that it simply isn't practical to post as
often as I'd like!

Oh my goodness. I love it!
I want to learn how to do better with photography, but all I have is a Kodak EasyShare ZD710. It's really just a starter camera until I can get my debts paid off and some more experience under my belt. Can I still do nifty stuff with a simple camera like mine?
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Eric makes the big bucks. I wonder if the couple realized what an incredible treat it was to have you "help out" with the portraits...

very romantic pic...I love the green framing the sweet looks on their faces.
I like your comments....sorry you are surfing your butt off ....it isn't big enough for that!
Jenny
good perspective!
Won't you also have to hire Mary to shoot our polygamous same-sex marriage?
Will we have bridesmaids or like 15 groomsmen?
LOL. Blogging is supposed to come straight from the heart! But it would be cool if you had Mary update for you (almost 3 months is a LONG time dude!)
It's fabulous!
ohhh i like... question for you, if you shot that but with f/4...would the bokeh be about the same?
All kidding aside, I have to say this is one of my favorite images of yours.
I like your mostly straight from camera look.
lovely....quite perfect in every way.
We did a wedding last weekend...the bride wore blue shoes. I thought of you.
awesome pic! yes, hire mary. we need to hear from you more often. a lot more often! ;)
@dimsom - F4 would have looked similar, but much less "buttery"... F2.8 + the FF sensor on the 5D rocks
I would LOVE Ms. H to update your blog more often! That would be sweeeet 8-)
very, very nice photo
@dimsom - @Av8tqr -
Your options:
1.) With 70-200 f/4, take a step back and zoom in a litte tighter, boom you have the same DOF.
2.) Get a 135 f/2 and PWN all 70-200's. Or for 1.6x, use an 85 1.8.
DOF is always relative to subject distance an focal length. 85 1.4 on crop is better than 135 f/2 on FF which is equal to 200 2.8 on FF which is equal to about 400 f/4 which about equals 600 f/5.6... ...you get the idea...
Geekly yours,
=Matt=
Beautiful photo! Can I hire Mary too?
LOL over hiring me! But I'm willing to help get your work out there more often!
BTW~ this photo is excellent~
Technically and romantically!
