| finally got sound!!!! had to do a windows update for the sound card to work, without background music/noise just doesnt get me into coding mood at all....
i reformated my new work machine again yesterday (cuz it got hacked and had some back door installed already after only 3 days T___T) but now it's under good protection
anywho, for those who are interested (jim was saying t takes forever to setup windows compare to linux), it took be about 5 hours to fully setup this windows machine under win2k, including a full hd format, all important windows updates, most of my favorite/must have program and util, and all dev tool i needed to work
did i mention i'm the only person work in the lab today?
o, another thing... i dont know when it started, atleast few months ago, probabbly after sp3, but almost every site i went, ie would give me this error "This page provides potentially unsafe information to an activeX control. your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly." it's soo annoying, but i was too lazy to find the fix for it. then my office machine got this error too, but i got to switch to a new one so i waited. and yesterday as soon as i reinstalled windows, dont remember which site i went, but the error started again. so i got really annoyed, and just pasted whole error msg into google, and vola answer came out (dont you love google?), incase you are interested, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/Q235/6/53.ASP&NoWebContent=1 follow everything uptil the reinstall ie part (unless you want ie 6, but i want to keep my ie 5, of course i cant reinstall from the cd and msft dont give you ie 5 anymore) so i just went to windows update, and bam, there was a new update, i installed it, hope it's fixed, i will let you know if the error happens again, so far so good though |
