    Random ponderings

A couple things I find terribly interesting. And weird.

The first is this. Has anybody ever noticed that while you're sitting in a car, if you open the window, your hair blows into your face? Wouldn't it be more logical for the hair to blow like... backwards? This always bothers me. Because like I told someone the other night... you get to wherever you're going, and your head looks like a big piece of cotton candy. And that's just wrong.

Another thing... Why is it that late at night, grocery stores seem to play music that seems specifically designed to make you fall asleep? This calamity may strike at any time... one minute you can be walking down the cereal aisle with lullaby-sounding music playing softly, and the next minute, you're walking through a hallway made of mushrooms, with Alice from Alice in Wonderland at your side, discussing the political situation of some obscure nation in Southeast Asia. All while sipping a Frosted Flakes flavored milkshake.

Finally... it's easy to read a book for half an hour. In fact, it's easy to read a book for five hours. If it's a good book. However... I find it pretty annoying that while half an hour feels like a really short time when that's all the time I have to read, half an hour seems like a really long time when you're running or jogging, or something of that nature. That's not so weird, it's just frustrating. =P

Oh, and another thing. Why is it that you can go to bed with one annoying song stuck in your head, and after... oh... four hours or so of trying to stop it from playing over and over again in your head, you fall asleep, but in the morning, you wake up and think, "Wow, the song is gone!" And then you realize. That song is gone, but another has taken it's place. Is your brain secretly listening to music while you're asleep?

So yeah. That's all I've got for a post. Life's been boring. But I did learn recently that it's psychologically disturbing for a chocolate chip cookie to be flat.

  • How is it that some people are still able to think of things to post about?
    I certainly never can.
I'm off to study for an economics test. And an English test. And a Bible test while I'm at it. Sounds fun, no? Oh yes.

Also... the mean neighbors finally moved. We haven't met the new ones yet. But we shall. If not by going over to say hi, probably when they knock on the door to tell us to make our dog be quiet. =P

Studying. Right. I'll go do that now.

  • For your reading pleasure. Er... yeah.

    *rewinds back to November* Ta-da!

    me: Once upon a time
    there lived a sockadillo
    named Arm
    Stephen: (what's a sockadillo?)
    me: (it's a... thing)
    Stephen: (...ok...)
me: and the sockadillo had pink spots
    and it was orange
    so... it ate insects
    he went to the store
and said, "HEY THIS IS A STICKUP"
    "WHERE'D YA STORE THE DOUGH??"
and he pulled out a watergun
    the staff members were terrified
Stephen: (Is this sockadillo in any way related to the orange polar bear?)
    me: (no, not at all)
(I forgot the polar bear was orange... hmmm)
Stephen: (well, it was the first color that came to mind)
me: um... so right... they quickly led him to the baking goods aisle
    and Arm said
"GIMME THE DOUGH OR I'LL KILL YOU ALL"
    Stephen: Oh my...
me: they grabbed all the dough off the shelf and threw it at him
"take all the dough you want mr. Arm!!"
    Arm was perplexed
"wheah you's boss stored the mula??" he hollored
    (I spelled that wrong... hollered)
    The End
    Stephen: Wow
    Interesting...
me: yeah, and it's a true story
Stephen: Was this sockadillo robbing another sockadillos store?
    me: umm
no... it was the snappit's store
    Stephen: The snappit...
    me: yeah
Stephen: is that something like a turtle?
me: kind of like a flying frog
