| | Sonia and I went to watch Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. It was good, but I think I liked it mainly because I was watching to see how George Lucas was going to bridge the gap from Episode II to Episode IV. As each piece of the puzzle was put into place, a certain satisfaction grew. Bit by bit, the whole picture was coming into view.
I think we look at our lives like that sometimes. We have an idea of where we want to be. For those of us who are Christian, we know that there is an end that God has in store. The question: How do we get from here to there? God says that He has good things in store for His people. God says that if I obey, I will find things work out better. God says that if I remain pure now, the experience will be sweet later. God says that if I exhibit some patience now, He has the future in His hands. God says that if I love my enemy, He can use that love to save him. God says that if I train up my child in their youth, eventually, they'll remember the right path.
But it's that's question, and all the other questions in-between, that brings us both excitement and fear. I thought George Lucas did a pretty good job of tying things together. I know that God can do a better job of getting us to where it is He wants us to be. I think I'll join Him today on the journey. There's no better place.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you..." Jeremiah 29:11-14 ESV
