instructor leads us through syllables like 'ha,' 'se,' 'do,' and the
like.
Then, calmly, he tells us, 'say this after me:'
and makes a preposterous, impossible sound. Like a 'k' and a chicken cluck simultaneously. We sit there gaping.
It would be like an aerobics class where you're instructed to raise
your arm, lower your arm, stretch your neck, and rub your forehead with
the heel of your foot.
