  Keeping in Touch

   

  It is hard to believe that this school year is already three quarters finished with only nine weeks left of classes, but that’s where we are!  Third quarter grades will be posted this week on PowesSchool.

   

  Things generally begin to hop around this time of year as students are trying to make the most of the few remaining weeks.  There are big activities and events every week it seems.  Coming up right away after break, we have the much loved “California Achievement Tests” (April 8 & 9) and after those, we will enjoy our annual Spring Talent Show where students and staff can showcase their hidden (or not so hidden), talents for all to see and enjoy.  I look forward to it because it seems that each year I am surprised by someone’s talent that I never would have imagined.

   

  Mr. Shaffer’s seminar class will also be making their yearly trek to Los Angeles to tour museums and absorb culture this month.  Plans are also in the works for the 1^st CCA Iron Chef Challenge.  The staff team will be challenging student teams in the preparation of a 3 course meal using a secret ingredient. 

   

  The Galley, CCA’s very own café run by the students in the Advanced Culinary Arts class, will be showcasing it’s culinary delights in April as well.  They will offer various delicacies on Friday evenings throughout the month.

   

  Our Seniors are busy preparing for their senior trip to Santa Clara, CA to Great America the last weekend in April. With almost all of the seniors participating, it should be a memorable time for all involved.

   

  The purpose of this blog is to keep you abreast of the happenings here at CCA.  I will try and get a weekly update posted for you every Sunday.  Be sure and check out the Sports Blog as well for reports from our Tennis & Track Teams.
