Last week I finished "The Chronicles of Narnia", a work by Clive Staples Lewis. Here Lewis presented the obvious parallels to the Christian beliefs in his fantasy world.

With the Lion Aslan as the Christ Figure, the first book of the Chronicles was like the book of Genesis in the Bible. The second book, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is on show around the Chinese New Year. I was very moved when I try to relate this book to the Salvation of Christ.

"The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is a journey where the children travel beyond the End of the World, past the Last Sea to the paradisal country of Aslan. To me, reading this book was like a wonderful journey to the land of God and filled me with joy.

The last book "The Last Battle" even talked about the "Anti-Christ", the false prophets and the return of the Aslan, when Aslan Judge the whole Creation. Those who love him stay with him forever and those who hate him vanish into his shadow.

There are many other Christian themes. I like especially the way Lewis deal with Faith. Those who believe in Aslan can see him and would love him. But those who do not hate him and fear him.

When I was reading about the Judgement in "The Last Battle" I suddenly had fear for myself. I asked myself when I look into the eyes of Jesus on Judgement day would I look at Him, though have fear in my heart, love Him? Though His glance would be unbearable, who could escape?
