Speaking of gullible people...

I came across an article last week that reported a guy trying to smuggle counterfeit Canadian currency into the country and got caught by a customs officer (he had some other illegal stuff with him, but I forgot what they were). Would you like to venture a guess how much he was carrying?

$10 billion CAD. That's right, it's not a typo. $10 billion. He was carrying ten $1 billion dollar bills in his briefcase. Those bills looked authentic, were bluish and had one of the prime ministers' face on them. The guy claimed that he was going to negotiate with some businesspeople in Toronto, and had intended to pay them with these bills.

More damningly, it wasn't the first time the guy had pulled this trick. There were actually people who bought his chicanery and accepted the $1 billion bills.

Why are there such people in this world?

But a 1-billion-dollar bill in Canadian currency? That's pushing the envelope too far.

Who would dare carry 1 billion dollar bills around? Even Bill Gates would probably feel some pain if he loses a couple of them!

I don't want to start a forum here, so I'll just make my last statement...I'm surprised about the 1-billion dollar currency but i know I definitely won't fall for THAT...haha

Aye, I did post that. The key word in Mr. Loeb's quote is all.
Certainly, Gates's wealth is not limited to a measly couple of billion dollars. Hence, I see no contradiction between my two posts.

And Becky, you can start a forum here if you want to. I don't mind.

In that case, when i have 10 billion dollars, I will consolidate the wealth into one 10 billion dollar bill and carry it around in my pocket like a lucky penny!

Haha Johno, what are you, Mr. Burns and the Trillion dollar bill? :P
I agree, it's complete idiocy...
And why the heck would you forge $1 billion bills??? I mean, it would a lot better even with thousands or something, though it would take a heck of a lot more space...

You forge $1 billion bills because there are people who will take them.
