  • this just in...please tune your tv's to NBC 8pm...

    yes. ladies and gentlemen

if you haven't heard of the new mini-series called clash of the choirs, i am asking you to :D just because i'm partial to one of the cities represented.

5 singers go back to their hometowns to form choirs out of people who audition (like american idol) then they spend time learning songs, dance moves and now they are all currently in new york city performing live since monday and the finale is thursday! and the winning choir will have $250,000 donated to the charity of the singer's choice

cincinnati just happens to be one of the lucky cities represented by none other than Nick Lachey. :D hahaha. i had heard about the show and was interested in watching just to see what it would be like. so i was sitting in the family room watching it on monday and the choir did really well for a pop song (unwritten by natasha beddingfield) and then when they were doing the "call this number if you want this choir to stay in" this girl's face popped on tv. and it was none other than miss LISA BALDWIN!! haha. i know it doesn't mean much to many of y'all. but she went to my high school and sang in the choir and worked on the school news magazine with me. and now, she gets to work with nick and sing on stage in nyc. how cool is that? and then TODAY i was watching, and i found out ANOTHER girl was on it that i sang with in choir as well, miss april hilen. and they even showed her dad on tv. haha. how crazy is that?? that two girls from lakota east would be represented in the choir. pretty flippin' cool. and so because of them, i have voted for their sake. and also because if we win, the money will go to children's hospital here. totally worth the cause for sure. so go online to nbc.com to check out the site and pictures and audition stuff and go vote!! patti labelle is really giving us a run for it. her choir reminds me of gospel choir at osu. she's too good. but i'm rootin' for the home team.

nick with singing coach//oh hi nick. go team cincinnati!

our very own april hilen and lisa jean baldwin with friend//april with nick
our own lisa and april!//nick showin' them how it's done

lisa during auditions (they showed this on tv...i didn't know it was her!)//the shot that i saw lisa's face and started yelling "i know that girl!"

team lachey the first night//they went on and this was them tonight gettin' doooown :D

so go watch and vote! okay. done.

  • it has been one craaazy weekend

God was for sure moving through many people this weekend. praise God. He definitely touched many people, myself included in ways I never thought could happen. it was just an eye opening, heart thumping, blood flowing good time. i am thoroughly exhausted and spent but thankful for what unfolded. like what one of the pastors prayed for me, i need "super rest".haha  and thank you kentucky team for coming up to worship with us. we hope that you guys were blessed as well.

and yay freshmen for rockin' body worship. i was so proud :D

anyway, the real reason for posting. since many have asked and i'm too lazy to email/invite everyone individually...

    WHAT:
    My "long overdue junior" recital
    WHO: YOUU!!!
    WHEN: Friday, November 9, 2007 at 5:30p.m.
WHERE: Weigel Hall (next to the wexner center on college)
other info: there is a garage not too far for parking (those that might be coming from out of town) or of course y'all can just walk. there is no dress code, but no flash photography. or my teacher will have your head :D you may take pictures/tape the recital. but yeah. he sees a flash, i would run. haha. it's nice and short. no longer than 45 minutes with the little breaks that i'm going to take in between each piece. that's about all. a possible reception afterwards may happen. hope to see y'all there!!

i can't believe the weekend is already over. the daylight savings has also thrown me off cause i feel like it should be 11pm right now. thankfully, i have time and i have 2 paper/projects due tomorrow. ROCK ON!! :D

thank you for all who came. thank you for those who prayed. thank you thank you thank you. the weekend woudln't have been complete with each and every one of you.

  • nothin' like the midwest :D

it's quieter, wider roads, more fields and no more honking....just a train in the background....

i am back in ohio. took a while and an interesting adventure with my driver the story goes down in the books. but i made it alive and i'm heading back up tomorrow to begin another chapter at good ol ohio state. thank you sp and mc. i owe you guys big time.

its good to be home though. even if it is just with my dad. haha. without my mom, we really are two lost humans scrounging for food. although i tried cooking, but my dad stopped me and just said to order something. hahaha. i love him. we watched the brave one tonight. shot in new york city....and it makes me scared for those out there now....DON'T WALK ALONE! and bring pepper spray or something with you....you too guys. or just don't walk into parks called stranger park....haha.

i do miss the city though. i'm missing the people already, seeing the movie made me miss just all the adventure, the commotion, the people. as i was flying away yesterday, it finally hit that my whole summer has finally come to an end, there's no turning around and wanting to stay some more. that's a little part of me left there. a lot of people asked me today at church how the whole thing was...all i could tell them was that it was great. i haven't fully recovered and processed from it all...in turn for the random thoughts that are spurting out in this post. but it really was great. and who knows. i just might be back before y'all know it wherever the path leads me. but thank you to all the people i met, y'all made the experience all the more cherishable and i wouldn't have been able to do the things i did if it weren't for all your imputs and knowledge. i'm one lucky gal, that's for sure. jenny--thank you for making my stay as comfortable as anyone could ask for. i'm sure you're happy that i'm gone though so you can have your space and not have to jump over all my crap. you were the best host anyone could have hands down. if only i can be half as good as you were to me. goodness.

the pictures will be up soon enough. time to sleep. got a big day tomorrow.

thank you new york! get ready for me ohio state. :D
