Chef Eats: Barbecuing with friends!

Harvey, LA

I may be the only "Chef" among my friends, but they all love to cook and eat just as much I do! On this beautiful day a few of us got together and cranked up the good ol Webber! I know how much people outside of Louisiana LOVE crawfish boils (I do too), but it's a lot of work to host those damn boils! Grilling and relaxing is a welcome change! Steaks... salmon... chicken... marinade and toss it on the grill.. and that's what we did! =)

Grilled Steak

Boiled Corn

Grilled Blackened Salmon

Everything was really good. My favorite was the Blackened Salmon... Seared perfectly and very moist as all salmon should be! I loved the salad too.. Fresh romaine with a homemade a tangy and spicy thai dressing! Life is too good!

Sampler Platter... =)

just perfect...

Sometimes all you need are great friends and good food. Life is already stressful enough.. No need to worry about making the "perfect meal" or "impressing your friends/family".. Sometimes all you need to do is let the food take care of itself and it'll end up taking care of you!

MMM.... I just had a BBQ last weekend.  It's great just to enjoy your family, friends, and good food!  The salmon in the picture looks really good.  We usually don't have salmon at our BBQ's (mostly just shrimp)... but this looks like something I gotta try!

Care to share your recipes for the marinade or dressing?  ;)

Hm I can't wait to hear your review of Houston's (for my own reasons for which if you're interested, I'll tell you haha). oo you're reading Nobu: The Cookbook. Is that the one with the black cod recipe? -L

This meal makes me happy! Sure it has tons of meat but it looks like good stuff! Not to mention the corn on the cob, made some of that myself the other day. Yay for vegetables!

Amazing looking streak and the salmon looked like it turned out well.  What kind of sauces do you use for your BBQ meats and fishes?
