Why deal with painful memories
That haunt you from yesteryear?
Things that were said and done
Whisper regret in your ear.
Why deal with childhood abuse
That replays in your mind,
Torments you in your dreams,
When peace in Him you can find?
There is no need to repeat the past
And no need to regret
For you cannot change what has been done
So it’s best to forgive and forget
Let the Great Physician do surgery
On the memories you do not want.
Mercy and grace are the scalpel
That cut out the things that daunt.

Thank you for the birthday greeting. Beautiful post and poem.
Good thought... it is sometimes difficult to forgive let alone forget but we are told to take every thought captive...and it does our hearts no good at all to camp on those kind of painful memories.... God does heal.............
Thanks for your kind comments about my humble photos!!!!!
Oooo.....AMEN!
Great encouragement here, Christy! Brings this scripture to mind ...
{ Phil. 4:8 }
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things".
Have a terrific Tuesday!
Blessings,

Very interesting title! A good point about letting the Great Physician cut out the memories that haunt us.
RYC: I guess my post could be taken as meaning that I believe everyone should have as many children as biologically possible, but that wasn't my intent. The people I had in mind are those Christians that want to put off childbearing for years -- if not forever, or those Christians who feel they need to resort to abortion to control their family size. My husband and I also considered limiting our family size for a time after a particularly horrible miscarriage, so I understand your decision.
Awesome post! AMEN! Thank you for your comment and encouragement! Have a wonderfully blessed day. (I'm going to print this and post it at my desk, if you don't mind!) Holly
Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the encouragement. I'm just a really blunt person, and xanga is where I vent. Lol. My kids wear on me sometimes, but God is always faithful to help me. Well, thanks again, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Wow! Love the lacy look here!
Ps Thanks for stoping bye!
Thanks for your comment!
Yes, no need to repeat the past. Everyday is a new day and only now counts.
Christy,
RYC: I just wanted to make sure you know the prayer request is for Cheryl and not me. God bless you sweetie and thank you for praying.

Wow Christy,
I really needed to hear this poem. I had a very painful childhood and I sometimes start to remember all of those painful memories. Yes, I will let the Great Physician do surgery on those memories that I do not want. AMEN!!!
All of your poems are great, but this one really spoke to my heart.
Blessings to You P.S. My husbands birthday is on Groundhogs Day also.
RYC: We have gone from pouring rain to blizzard conditions, to clear, to now storms again with high winds, and now they are saying rain again on Monday! It is very difficult to keep up. I guess that is why I carry a packed bag, shovel, extra coat, and umbrella all in the car. Take care. - Rachel
I like how the poetry sounds, and the physician line.
