GETTING AWAY FROM IT ALL!!
We're going on vacation to visit the beach,
We'll all be gone for over a week.
Our bags are packed, filled to overflowing,
The flashlight with batteries, and the lantern lights glowing.
I've ordered the news to be mailed each day,
Packed all the toys for the kids to play.
We're taking the dog and both the cats,
Instead of leaving them behind at the vets.
We've hired a kid to mow the lawn.
But decided to take the houseplants along.
Our water is bottled and placed in the car,
As is the portable potty, so we can travel far.
Our swim suits and play clothes are all in bags,
The kids' swimming floats are separated with tags.
A portable 'fridge to keep some things cool,
And a few books to read before returning to school.
There's just one little thing that keeps nagging my mind,
Am I leaving anything else behind?
If I am trying to get away and be free?
Why am I taking it all with me?

This is so cool so I'll add my two cents...umm I don't remember you counting the tents.
so what the heck if you sleep on the ground,
just keep far away from that tall earthly mound
or else you be running and screaming to boot
you'll have slept on an anthill won't that be a hoot!
You got your own potty your plants and some books
you've got the untensils I hope someone cooks.
and all of the pets just humm with their glees
hope you don't run into a fight with their fleas.
be careful and watch when the fire is sparking
check well at the spot before bodily parking.
Hope it is sunny, did you bring the hats?
Hmmm.. did you remember litter box for the Cats.
the doggy will run around wild and free
first thing he will do is chase cats up a tree.
and don't you forget if it rains the umbrella
is still in the house down the stairs in the cellar.
Did you remember the paper so needy
I heard that the leaves are all crumbly and seedy.
finally you're there you looking 'round with a sigh
What the heck was I thinking
I musta been high!
Have a Wild and Crazy time! And most of all have FUN!!!
