  • This is my third attempt to post today.?Update at the bottom of page.

I am going to post this a little bit at a time. Maybe that will work. My computer or server keeps knocking AOL off the computer. I do not know why.

UPDate at the bottom of the page.

I still have pumpkin pictures to post, so I will try to get them on here by bits and pieces.

Isaac is the ambidextrous one. While Ian is right handed. We have some of everything.

I do not take responsibility for myself. The drugs made me do it.

Ian spent last night here. He got up at 5:15 AM. We cooked, played Scrabble, played Memory, he worked on his recorder and played on the V-Tech, and read to me. Then he decided to go home, so I took him about lunch time. Although he usually likes to stay longer, I think he was afraid they would do something without him.

The doctor's visit was eventful. I had an EKG, lots of x-rays for my lungs and sinuses, and bloodwork right on the same site I had other blood work done on Monday. He didn't do anything for the plantar's faschitis (I don't know how to say it, much less spell it.) I just let it go on too long, but I have to go back in a month. I am a mess, just a mess.

Several have asked for: nay, demanded, an explanation for the doctor's visit.
Here goes. I had a very bad arrythmia episode about two weeks ago on a Saturday night. It was the worst one I had had since '99. I took a second pill and waited for 20 minutes before it controlled the racing heart. I had given it 30 minutes to work, before calling ER, so it slowed just under the time I had given it.
So, the doctor ordered an EKG, My sinuses have been worrying me, causing me to lose lots of sleep. They were very bad, so he had x-rays done of the sinuses. Have you had one of those sets of X-rays done? uncomfortable. Then the wheezing and discomfort in the chest....he thinks it is bronchitis, but had more x-rays done to be sure. (Remember this was on a Friday night, and most of the dept. in the clinic were closed or closing, so x-rays were test of choice). This is a privately run medical clinic. They do many of their tests on site. This was not a regular type sinus infection. But he wanted to check out the problem (He thinks I have a benign growth giving the problems) Then he tells me that sometimes the electrolytes dropping fast can cause the arrythmia, so I had to have other blood work. Now, if you have been reading here any length of time, you may remember than my elecrolytes --Magnesium, potassium, and something else-- fell off the charts a few months ago and I had to take lots of meds., and I could hardly get around. (That problem was a real deciding factor in me deciding to NOT go back to work full time) So that worried the doctor very much and he said so. This plantar's faschia sort of took a back seat to this because I can walk if I use the crocs.
So, there you go. I have an antibiotic to take, more pain meds., sprays for the sinuses, minerals, lots of things. He gave me samples of several of the meds. so if they are not right for me, I won't be out a bunch of money that I can't afford to lose.
Now, there you have it. I am a mess! I have to go back in 4 weeks and they will call me if the s-rays or blood work show something else or I will call if I need to see the doctor.

  • Cool pumpkins! We can be messes together, you and I.
  • why are you saying you're a mess?
  • What news did the doc give you to make you such a mess?
  • I like the idea of painting the punkins rather than cutting them--less mess and kinder to the punkins :)

I'm with the others, above--what's up with the doctor?

  • I use to paint pumkins with clown faces for the kids school rooms....lots of fun!

I don't know a terry from xanga.... who ya talking about?  I know of a chocolate orange from the company Terry's? you smack it on hard surface and it comes out in segments like oranges.... yum

  • Xanga burps - lol
  • Are you taking any decongestants? That ratchets my arrhythmia up several notches. I'm glad you're not working full time so you can be seen for this stuff before it gets worse. Hugs!
  • I don't know how you function under all this pressure, I couldn't. You must be a very strong-minded person. I am glad you are going to a private clinic. I think you have a better chance of not getting lost in the shuffle as I do sometimes with a huge clinic known world-wide for different things, except they can still lose all my records that go back to 1980. Oh, they found them, but what a scare and what a blow to my expectations. I hope all turns out well for you. I really admire you.
  • That's a lot to undergo, so I can sure understand your exasperation.  My prayers are with you that you will weather it through to a good end.
  • RYC: OMG! I've always said that about being fired. I can't believe you said that to me. Well, yeah, I guess I can. We seem to have a lot of thinking in common. Must be the science teacher connection. But man, my mouth dropped open. LOL
  • My goodness.....you are not having a good week at all! Sorry to hear you are dealing with all of those things. How do you work!?
I hope you are feeling better soon, Cyn. Much love and big hugs! Lori
  • cool pumpkins!! I'm glad you went to the doctor and got drugs...drugs are good.
  • now I see what you are talking about -with your heart. Hang in there.
  • Oh dear, you do have problems! Sorry to hear about the complex set of things bothering you. Do take care. This is going to be a beautiful week weather wise. I hope you get to enjoy some of it.
  • Dear Cynthia,

I love the pumpkins. Glad the children didn't have knives to play with!

I'm praying for you. Reading about the "demands' makes me think of how us 'aging boomers" who have blogs will eventually be continually blogging about how we're falling apart.

I don't know about you, but I'm encouraging the study of cloning. I'd love to just be able to step into a more healthy, younger version of myself (with hair, this time) when the time comes that I'm in too much pain.
