Today was not a school working day. It is one of the Testing days for the state. It has been a less than busy, but not lazy day. Some housework, some pet work, some errands, a needed nap, some record keeping, just this and that. It has kept me busy.
Tonight I am watching a program about the Grand Canyon. Ian will be 9 this year. Next year is his year to take a trip anywhere in the continental USA. I want to give him some options besides Disney World. At 10 years old, they are old enough to remember it as a good time, but not too old to not want to travel with their gramdma. I will get one year off, then have two trips back to back. I got this idea from my brother and his wife. They did that with their 5 grandchildren. I think I remember their trips were: Washington, DC (twice), Los Angeles, Yellowstone National Park, and Florida.
I am trying to stay out of trouble so that I will be in good shape to make the trip for the wedding and feel like having a good time. The wedding is 11 days away. The trip down is 9 days away.
I wish I could go camping....I need to sit around a camp fire and roast things.....hot dogs, marshmallows, small game, grasshoppers, other crackly things. Just kidding, well, maybe not for everything.
Edy found that she is a watch dog today. She chased birds out of the yard. When I checked one time, she had 3 different kinds of birds sitting on the fence; afraid to fly over the yard. I think they were teasing her. She can really run fast when they come into the yard. She half flies across the distance. Very much fun to watch.
Even a hunter has to rest sometimes.

Those are both great cat pictures.
When my son was nine we took a cross country trip and visited a lot of caves, Indian mounds, and Pueblo ruins. When he was 12, we took another trip, saw more caves, paid attention to the geology, more ruins and learned more archaeology, and ventured through several big cities late at night to look at the lights. I want to go again. He is almost 27 now. We'd have a great time and learn loads.

Such cute pics! I figure you'll do what you have to so that you stay feeling perky for the wedding. :) I thought the wedding was in your town for some reason....but then I remembered the shower wasn't, so that makes sense abuot the traveling!
Hope you have a good week. Yes, I do itch, but it isn't as bad as shingles, which I have had friends have. Doug had them right before we started dating and he said they drove him nuts.

So, did you tear the wings off flies and chase them with a hot match when you were a kid? Someday, when we are not so busy (like that will happen soon) we really should meet. I'll bring Yvonne, you bring a friend and we can skip rock and hunt bugs at Big Creek or somewhere near Asheville.@vexations - Sounds good to me. I may go near Knoxville this summer. One of the great nephews is graduating next week, but I won't be able to go, so I may go up this summer to make good on the auntie gift thing.

yes, my dog gets teased by the cats also. Yes, the wedding will be coming up. why are weddings so stressfull for the parents? lol
