  • So little time!!!!!

Wow! Life can sure be busy! I seriously don't have time to blog right now with the end of the year stuff for school, trying to sell a house and baseball, baseball and more baseball. As soon as I get a free hour or two, I'm going to upload a bunch of pictures and catch up but for now this will have to do.

I will say this for anyone who cares, Rob and I decided the other night that we are going to move to Texas sometime between the 15th and 25th of June. He needs to get out there and the kids and I will just go spend a few weeks in Texas at Nana and Papa Cooper's house. We also want to drive to Arizona and New Mexico and see all of our cousins, aunts, uncles and great grandparents. This will take up a lot of the summer as well. So, it is finally in the works whether the house sells or not. We just decided that we have to make it work and if we have to rent in Texas for a few months, I guess that is what has to happen. Hopefully, our house will sell by the time school starts. Also, we are definitely moving to Colleyville and not Frisco. Frisco did not feel right at all and Colleyville feels really right! I'm excited to be near dear friends and family!

    Gotta go, times a wastin!

  • Top Ten things for the 4th week of April

    1. I finally got my detox body wrap that was my Valentine's gift from Rob for Valentine's Day. It was very relaxing and my skin feels great. However, it has caused the seven layers of skin that were burned on my legs in Gulf Shores to peel off and I've been dealing with nasty, flaky legs all week.

    2. I was able to help a couple of my wonderful, awesome friends here in Georgia give the daughter and daughter-in-law (same girl) of two more of my wonderful, fantastic friends a bridal shower on Tuesday night. I'm seriously surrounded by fun and talent with these friends and I'm absorbing every great idea they have for future events. The lucky couple are going to Aruba for their honeymoon so the theme of the shower was "Hot! Hot! Hot!." It was a tropical theme and everyone was assigned to bring presents that would "heat things up" in the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. Aubry, the bride, was the cutest and seemed to have so much fun!

    3. I loved American Idol this week as the six finalists were mentored by Andrew Lloyd Webber and I thought that David A's version of "Think of Me" was incredible. I seriously wish they would record that and put in on the radio. However, I was sick for Brook and seriously had that moment when she started her song and then stopped and asked to start again playing in my head over and over for two days straight. My favorite is still David C. I think he's got a great thing going!

    4. Eric finished his CRCT (Georgia State Testing) tests on Tuesday and Natalie started on Wednesday. She finished up on Friday and now we are allllll done!! Yea!! Both kids said they were "soooo easy" which honestly makes me a little nervous.

    5. Our friends, Brent and Aubry, were married in the Atlanta Temple on Saturday. They look soooo
young and I had to wonder if Rob and I ever looked that young.

    6. Their reception/party was the night before and I was lucky enough to be able to help with the set up and then that night serving food. It was such a great party and so incredibly beautiful!!!! Her colors were bright pink and orange. It was so cheerful and elegant and just a super fun thing to be apart of. Like I said before, I'm absorbing all these great ideas for future (way future) events. I've
always LOVED weddings and receptions. It was so much fun to help out!!!!

    7. We had only one showing for our house this week and that was after we dropped the price $10,ooo dollars on Saturday. I finally convinced Rob that if we have to move, let's just try to get this over with, get there and start fresh. It is sooo stressful to sell a house and move in any market and this market stinks!

    8. Tyler continues to keep us all smiling. (I felt like I needed to add him to this post so he wouldn't feel left out). He took three showers/baths in a 24 hour period between Friday night and Saturday night. One after each baseball game. He's a crack up, knows how to have a good time and loves to get dirty!

    9. We had baseball games Wednesday night (Eric- make up game), Thursday night (Natalie), Friday night (Eric), Saturday morning at 8:00 am with batting practice starting at 7:00 am (Natalie) and Saturday night (Eric). Natalie lost the first one but won the second one and got three hits in the game on Saturday and Eric lost all three. His team really struggles but Eric played catcher in all three games and did better and better in each one.

    10. And to top off the week!!! Eric is now sporting a "Super Shiner" on his left eye! Talk about scary. In his game last night, he was playing short stop and the player from the other team tried to steal second. The catcher threw a hard ball to Eric to get the kid out but Eric said he had dirt in his eye and couldn't see very well. Well the next thing we saw (and heard) was Eric getting popped on the head with the ball and then falling to the ground. Rob was off the bleachers and running faster than anything and I stood up to watch coaches and umpires running and then surrounding my child who was on the ground on the field. It was really scary. One of our friends told me I could go out on the field but I was literally sick to my stomach and afraid of what I might find. My legs felt like jello. As I started to head out to him, Eric stood up and they brought him over. He's got a great looking black eye and after talking to a doctor (Clairissa's dad who is here for the wedding) we brought him home, cleaned him up and showered him with pillows and treats and lots of love. He was given a Priesthood blessing and had a good night's sleep and seems to be feeling better today.
I told him it was a rough way to go but that he's going to have fun showing that thing off to his friends at school tomorrow!!!! I think he loves the attention.

  • Taking Turns...

Taking turns has always been a great strategy when
my kids have friends over to play and want to play with
the same toy, but did you know it also works for adults?

Rob and I are taking turns being frustrated over having
to sell our house. This week it is my turn, last week
it was his. Laurie asked what was going on and here's
    the answer - Nothing much!

We've had at least 2 or 3 showings every week we've had
it on the market but no bites. This week, we haven't had
any showings at all. I still keep my house spotless at all
times for that what if. Well, spotless might be over doing
it a little. It's clean enough and I'm sick of busting my hiny
to hear comments that are just very picky. You can
afford to be picky in this market. It stinks because this market
is awful!!!! There are 10 houses for sale within a miles radius of our
house. Our neighbors are selling "just because" they want to
move to another area and get a bigger house. They have
two kids with a big house and a huge, flat back yard. Do
what you want to do but why in the heck stress yourself
out trying to sell a house in this horrible market if you
don't have to. It's bad enough when you have to because
    of your husbands job.

I can honestly say that I am seriously jealous of anyone who
has lived in a house longer than four years (or the same state
for that matter). I'm so sick of moving every few years. So
sick of it!!!! It doesn't help either that I absolutely love my
life here in Georgia and that is saying a lot considering I've
spent a lot of time in this state being extremely sick! It's
a good thing the move is to Texas where I have a lot to look
    forward to.

Well, next week I'll have a better attitude and Rob can be the
frustrated one. I guess taking turns is better than two grouchy
adults at the same time. It always seems to work on Tyler!
Does that mean that we are acting like four year olds? :)

  • 10 pounds down!!!!

Actually, 10.2 if you want to be exact! :)
It's "only" taken me 7 weeks but I keep telling
myself that I'm not in a race. Of course, I'd
like to lose it all tomorrow but I'm trying to
make this is lifestyle change and you can't be too
drastic with these things or you won't stick to it.

One more pound and I'll be at my pre-surgery
weight but I still have 15 more to lose to be to
the weight I was when I moved to Georgia.
Apparently I like the southern cooking a little
too much. I have had a lot of fun here in Georgia!

I love weight watchers and I love the classes. I
spent two hours Sunday night making menu plans
and tweaking recipes and then figuring out how
much a serving would be. I'm eating really healthily
right now and exercising. I've made three new friends
up at the workout room in the community center at our
neighborhood. Two of them are originally from New York
and have the cutest accents. I feel really good and better
than I have for a loooong time!!!!

  • Spring Break at the Gulf!

We had a great time last week in Gulf Shores, Alabama! Our awesome friends,
the Toliver's, have a beach house down there and invited us to come join them
for some fun in the sun!

We drove down on Tuesday and then played in town on Wednesday because it was cloudy and a bit drizzly. That didn't keep us from having a good time though. We had a great "Southern" meal at a restaurant where they throw rolls across the room and keep the fried okra, black eyed peas and fried potatoes and onions coming throughout the meal. Yummy! We left very full!

Thursday and Friday, it was off to the beach and playing in the lagoon. Oh, and lounging around and reading and relaxing too. It was a very relaxing, wonderful vacation with a super fun bunch of people.
