  • Who put the "Slumber" in Slumber Party anyway?

We had a really fun slumber party for Natalie on Friday night.
I let her invite who she wanted to, and thirteen (yes, I said
thirteen) out of the fourteen girls who were invited came.

It was crazy fun! We played games, had pizza, decorated
Care Bear cakes, opened presents, ate cookie cake and ice
cream, made fancy flip flops, watched movies, played,
and sang to Hannah Montanah! Notice sleeping was not
mentioned in the above list. I finally went to bed at 11:30 but
the girls claimed to have stayed up until four in the morning.
I'm not sure if that is really the case but I do know that at 1:00am,
I asked Rob to go, way down to the basement, and tell the girls
    to stop being so loud.

I was up at 7:00 the next morning to get breakfast ready and they were
already up. I'm sure the fact that Eric and Tyler had crept down there at
6:30 didn't help any. Rob and I were getting breakfast ready and Rob said,
"Is that Tyler screaming down there?" to which I replied, "No, it sounds like
him (because Tyler screams like a girl) but Ty is in bed." I couldn't be more
wrong! He and Eric were having fun chasing the girls and stirring things up so
it actually was him screaming along with all of the girls!

Well, we had a yummy breakfast of pancakes and bacon, everyone got dressed
and got their stuff together, played for a little while and then
everyone was picked up and gone by 9:15. That is when Natalie went to my
room and was fast asleep by 10:00 am. She slept for two and a half hours.
Good thing or she would have been CRANKY!!!!!

The girls had fun decorating Care Bear cakes made from twinkies and coconut
marshmallow cookies. We set up the "craft center" in the garage (thanks Mom -
for that awesome idea!) and I made aprons for each girl to use and take home.

My awesome, incredible, fantastic friend, Lauralee Angell (who really
is an authentic, true-blue angel, by the way) came to help out.
She was the best! I seriously couldn't have done it without her help!!!!
She had a lot of fun braiding the girl's hair and was so helpful with everything.

Natalie really wanted a cookie cake, and of course, the Texans had
to have Blue Bell ice cream for the special occasion! Yum! Yum!

They might have set up for sleeping but there wasn't much of that going on. We did
have a little 6 year old that nodded off about 11:00 and she, unbelievably, slept for
couple of hours despite all of the noise!

OMG!!  That looks like the funnest birthday party ever!!!!  I remember those when I was little.  I was always the first one to fall asleep and then all my friends would play pranks on me.  Natalie's baptism sounded so neat.  I wish I could have been there.  You looked so beautiful Casey.  Love you guys!! ~ash~

SOOO Fun!  Even though it was way too much work for you, Alex loved it.  I am sure everyone felt the same way!  You're a trooper!
