Sunday morning brought a phone call at 6:42 a.m. from Cortney! It was great to hear from her, I talked with her about 40 minutes, fell back into bed and the next thing I knew it was 9:15. Since church starts at 9 a.m., I figured I could still make it EXCEPT I looked in the mirror to see major bedhead and no way to just do a quick fix. Chris was sick with the cold I had passed on to him, Shelley came in the door from church wondering where we were, so we took off for Perkins for b'fast with Chris still in bed. The rest of the day we hung around the house and then I went over to Shelley's to watch some movies (Lars and the Real Girl) but fell asleep with a nice long nap for a couple hours. I came home to a homemade card from the Voo was stapled shut and I just started crying before I even got the card open! It said,
Dear Mom, I love you very much that it might not seem like it some days but that is not
true. We have our ups and downs but you are my mom and I love you so much. I also
think that it is cool that I can spend time with you because other kids can't do that. You
are the best thing that happened in my life and I don't want to take that away. I always
think that when I move away to college or out of the house I feel I won't be "Home."
Because I will miss the best thing that happened in my life. I always want you to know
that know matter what even I I say "It's my life" I still love you.
I LOVE YOU
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
When I read the things this 13 year old writes, it melts me and makes me so happy that I am his mom. The highlights are just like the real card that he made!
