Light at the End of the Tunnel
The Broadway rock musical, Starlight Express, has a song at the end called, "There's a light at the end of the tunnel". I saw the musical twice, once in London, once in Las Vegas. I always liked it and bought the soundtrack and drove everyone crazy around my house.
As I finished my paperwork.... WA-HoO! The school year started appearing in my rearview mirror and that song started playing in my head.... there's a light at the end of the tunnel....I still have final grades to enter, confidential files to take to the central office, 2 more parent meetings tomorrow, and files to copy to send home to parents. HOWEVER... every last single mandated piece of paperwork associated with the laws that govern special education are DONE, DONE, DONE. Whew!
5 of the 6 students that I have are finishing up their 'formal education' so I am planning to make each one of them a blanket (this weekend?), a memory CD of the tons of photos we took this year (this weekend?), and a class cookbook with some of their favorites so they can use it once they move out on their own (this weekend?).
All the rest of my tasks are details... the students attend school through next Thursday and I have to be here on Friday. Turn in my keys, clean out my desk, take my TV home, make sure the walls are bare... maybe I will take a peek at next year's school calendar...
