  • The weather could NOT be any more beautiful than it is this week.  It is glorious!  We drove down a dirt road this morning and the golden aspens next to the pines was breathtaking.  We're going back this afternoon for another dose.

Friends from Castle Rock came up and we are having such a good time enjoying this blessing God has put on us.  We head tomorrow back to real life,,, s i g h ,,,,.   We get to tour a place of Weddings in Georgetown with the kids tomorrow afternoon.  It's a dream-like facility from the pictures I've seen,  and has a opening for Dec. 22 ( or 23, I can't remember).  Then spend a week here and there around the Denver/Colorado Springs area.  Jim has some handyman jobs lined up.

But our loved ones are with us constantly.  Our thoughts are not far from Nathan and his family.  I spoke to Carolyn yesterday and they were hanging in there.  And one of our dear Elders out here passed away after illness so our thoughts are with them also.

Wish Everyone could enjoy this with us!  Can't wait to share my pictures!

  • We are in Breckenridge as I write this.

I am across the street from the condo taking a few minutes to tell the world that we had a very eventful weekend!

Lucas is now an engaged man!

    Yes he is!

I know many thought this day would never happen but it did!

Saturday he proposed to Jenn Pieters up on a trail off of Boreas Pass.

    And she said

    YES!!!!

They are hoping to have a wedding a Christmas time.  Date will depend upon when they can find a facility available for the wedding.

Jenn is a Special Needs teacher at a Resident Facility in Denver.

We are excited for them both.  She is a lovely woman that makes Lucas complete.  She loves the Lord with all her heart and soul.  Pictures to follow when time permits!

Today we are hiking around Cataract Lake.  Jeff only lasted here one night when altitude sickness took him over so Jim drove him down the mountain to his mother in Denver.  He is going to be busy there putting out resume's at various Urgent Care facilities.

  • A Teary Moment

    Had a teary moment today.

I was rushing through the grocery store as I was in a Coke deprivation mode, and hurried past an older gentleman taking his time reading labels.  His clothing and stature caught my attention first and I felt something familiar about him.  As I walked past him I smelled something familiar about him.  He made me think of my father with that "older man smell'.  It choked me up.  A lot.  I sure miss that old man of mine!

On Thursday we are headed West for vacation.  The kids and Lucas's woman are joining us at the time share in Breckenridge.

Blue Skies and fun times are anticipated!!!

    Oh yes!!!
