The Great Search
There's an idea going around.
It is an idea that we - this generation - is realizing that we ARE something. We need to find out WHO we are and WHY we are the way we are. We need to KNOW ourselves and no one else can tell us who we are because each of us is unique.
SCREECHING HALT PLEASE!
In searching for ourselves, we've staked the claim that we have the right to:
wear what we want:
say what we want:
do what we want:
eat what we want:
drink what we want:
And it's all because we are SEARCHING for ourselves and BECOMING who we are. (Doesn't that sound silly…if you really think about it. I can picture Captain Jack Sparrow, staggering around the beach with a bottle of rum in hand asking little birds, "Have you seen myself? I don't know who I am!")
We all know who we are - to a great degree. We know if we like broccoli or not. We know if we're comfortable talking in front of a room or not. We have an idea of what kind of future we would like to have. In essence, we already know who we are.
What we should be searching for (should because only this can help us FIND what we are looking for) is goodness, love, peace, hope, joy. The Bible says so and I believe it's right. What we should be searching for is Jesus.

I think we know a great deal about ourselves, but without purpose knowing about yourself is no different than knowing yourself. When knowing yourself means knowing your identity as a prince or princess in the Kingdom, it changes everything.
Great post!
@FireNBarbedWire - Well put!!
So true! I believe that we should search for Jesus in our heart.. :)
I completely agree!
