 thank you!
Thanks to all participants and visitors of the June blog-a-long!  It's amazing...with as many people who participated, there wasn't a repeat of even one idiom!  Everyone thought of different phrases, and the photos were just fantastic!  Way to go, Everyone!

Thanks to Uncskainch for thinking up that photo challenge!  It was a lot of fun!  If you still want to see the photos, click here for the links to the participants.  You may have to scroll back a few posts.

And thank you all so much for the birthday wishes!

As for today...I'm hot. Tired.  A bit dehydrated.  My eyes are tired from squinting in the sun.  So here's a cool, wet photo from a birthday party (not mine) that we attended on Sunday...

Watch out!  Here she comes down that slip-n-slide!

And here's a cool, dark sunset shot of ds catching the frisbee at the evening concert in the park last Thursday:

And the sunset was gorgeous that night!

(a birthday gift)  I can't wait to try it!

My ds gave me this book for my birthday.    It may sound a bit corny (and I am definitely the corny type) but Fred Rogers is one of my heroes.

Here's a quote from the book:

In the external scheme of things, shining moments are as brief as the twinkling of an eye, yet such twinklings are what eternity is made of- moments when we human beings can say, "I love you", "I'm proud of you", "I forgive you", "I'm grateful to you".  That's what eternity is made of: invisible, imperishable good stuff.
-Fred Rogers

I've finally got a few that I'll try to post now...I wanted to do "Like Water Off a Duck's Back" and "Like a Duck on a June Bug," but haven't been able to get the time to shoot. If I succeed, I'll post them later this summer!

Great photo shots !  FR was a really nice man! Even as a grown up I would watch his program ! He had such a calming effect and made the world seem simple and right! ~Thoughts through the looking glass~

Hope you are having a great day!

I've got the pendant done.  It was almost done this weekend, then inexplicably broke into brittle bits.  It may not be so inexplicable.  I probably overheated it somewhere along the way.  I made a new one today, even better.  It's ready to ship out, and I can't find your email address.  Can you email me your shipping address?

I think that two of us had "forest for the trees" or something like that... My fault, i should have looked at the other's pictures before I hit "send"! Looks like you had a great week :)

I have looked at that book- and almost bought it. I may have to look again, Fred was a very wise man, a sage. Hey, how do you do the borders? In Photoshop?

Oh my gosh...slip-n-slides!  I was a chubby little kid and to get my tummy wet and slap it on to that plastic...owwie.  Then to top it off, a lone blade of grass would make it on to the end of the slide and "paper-cut-esque" slice me on my butt or thigh...good times, good times...
