A laborious weekend of photos!
photo blog-a-long with us!

A lazy start.....but the weekend is still young!  September's photo blog-a-long is featuring the North American Labor (or Labour) Day.  So in honor of the fruits of our labors:

-photo your holiday eats
-photo your last summer hurrahs
-photo yourself or someone else at their job
-photo your 1st signs of Autumn

So please post your photos in your blog, and write a comment to me or Uncskainch, so that we may link to your blog for some late-summer visiting.

my offering: the late Summer enigma:

Oktoberfest in the park is the last official event of the summer in our little city.  Look at the line for carnival tickets!  There's the ticket booth way up there!  And look at that thunderstorm coming our way!

The carnival workers were busy keeping the atmosphere merry... (and my daughter happy with her cotton candy)

The kettle corn makers have a sweaty, steamy, back-breaking job.....

Our friends' son had the job of having a great time on the carnival rides.

Labor Day/Oktoberfest carnival food fare:  curly fries.....

...and roasted corn!
(I had mine with lemon pepper, paprika, and roasted garlic powder)  and melted butter, of course.

This weekend's Daily Haiku theme:

"HAIKU PRAYERS FOR THOSE IN NEED

in times of crisis and disaster, even the smallest amount of positive energy can help. This will be a weekend-long prompt. We encourage everyone to write a haiku for this prompt, and to invite your friends to try it out as well."

Faith.  Love.  Confidence.
Patience.  Cooperation
Ingenuity

Strength.  Resilience.  Peace.
Inner knowing.  Divine Love.
Kindness.  Wisdom.  Hug.

Those cotton candy bags look like strange science experiments in the mad scientist's lab.  (that's labour, I guess!)

The carnival looks like fun.  I get a little stressed out in that kind of environment, the amusement park environment.  I like the 4H and country competition sections.

I haven't touched my camera yet.

RYC: Thanks for your beautiful feedback.  I'm still digging on your photos and tie-dyes.  All the food looks too good, though.  You gotta stop that!

I'm new to Xanga, just stopping in to say hi!

Great blog! I love the pictures, you're quite the photographer! Are you a pro or an avid hobbyist?

I love all the project ideas too!

Thanks for sharing!

Tracy :)

I enjoyed seeing all you Oktoberfest pictures.  My daughter worked one summer making and selling cotton candy at Stone Mtn. Park.  It is a hot job!  It is also hard to make it without getting burned.  She survived, though, and worked the next summer counting money that the park made.
