 A photo blog-a-long potluck picnic!

Please come, one and all!  The whole month of September, please join Uncskainch and me as we celebrate the last weeks of summer with a virtual potluck.  So please come, and bring a virtual dish to share!

The usual procedure of the monthly blog-a-long applies....post a photo of your yummy in your blog, along with the recipe.  The recipe is very important, because it is always good to make the real thing in real life instead of licking the essence of your scrumptious morsels off the monitor!  (monitor dust doesn't compare, I am sure!)  Then, let me and/or Uncskainch know you have posted your entry (just drop us a comment in the current post of the time) and we will link you up on a special page for visiting and sampling.

What should you bring to the virtual potluck, you might ask?  Anything you want to bring!  Do you make a scrumptious dessert? (life is short, thought I'd mention dessert first) or a fabulous drink?  Maybe you make some outrageous deviled eggs, or a great pot of beans?  Or killer bbq, or a great salad.  How about the latest fruit or veggie bumper crop from your garden that is in season?  Even if you just bring the ice, that is great, too!

This photo blog-a-long will last through September 30th.  So get a-making and a-shutter-snapping!  We'll see you there!

A rainy morning at the river....

Wonka's chocolate river....

I can't get enough of the rain!  We've had above-average rainfall this summer monsoon season.   The moisture is winding down for our traditionally dry autumn, but there may be a few more good rains to soak in.  Yesterday morning, the kids and I went to the river for a little walk.  It had rained the whole night before...a good, steady, light, but soaking gentle rain.

There were hummingbirds busy at the feeders and the flowers....

And wildflowers.....

The desert gets so green....normally this landscape is brown and yellow for much of the year....

And of course...there was the ((muuuuuuuuuuuud))!

And Steve........(the big cottonwood tree we affectionately named)
