Like my ice light?  It's a votive candle inside a round of ice!  You fill water inside a mold that looks like a bundt pan, freeze it, let it sit out for a 1/2 hour, unmold it, and place it on top of the base, which holds the votive.  The mold becomes a collection container for the melting ice.  The flame inside the ice is just simply stunning!  We lit and enjoyed it for the first time on Christmas Eve, and this is a picture of it.

The ice looks like crystal...and the shimmering candlelight on the crystal-ice is too irrestable for the kids...they come up and run their little fingers along the smooth edges of ice.  I ran my ffinger over it several times, too.  You can feel the heat of the candle in contrast with the coldness of the ice.

It's a good metaphor for this time of year....the glimmer of light that stays alive in spite of the cold all around.  The light could represent the sun, new hope in a frozen/crazy  world, the DIvine within....however one could think of it.

What a nice idea!  I read about doing that with my tupperware jello mold.  Maybe I should try it next year, when I've got my dining table out.
