| | Happy Birthday Buddy!
Bud is 12 today. It's so hard to believe! He's been with us so long. He's still peppy and vibrant.....but he does save this special energy for times when food is around, or when we are getting ready to go for a walk. Otherwise, a good lie in the sun and lots of napping seem to suit him well these days.
Through the years, we have called him Buddy. Bud, Bud-Bud, Bud-Bud-Bud, Rose Bud, Stink Bud, Sweet Bud, Love Bud, Love Bud Beagle, Budder Ball, puke dog, pee dog, Red Dog Buddy, Hound, Dog, Nonads, Mr. Universal Peace And Harmony, The Dog, The Easter Beagle, Bud...eeee and most recently, my sister calls him Buddy Bedina. (complete with two songs and lyrics) I am sure there are more names I am overlooking. But you get the idea. Lots of names for lots of moods and phases of our lives.
He started out beiong super high-need and neurotic, above and beyond normal puppyness, and we wondered how we'd make it through. But he has really tiurned out to be a great companion, and super with the kids. And those neurotic tendancies have mellowed and have, for the most part, have become enduring. (most days)  He came before the kids did,and broke me and Husband in well for the years ahead. Thanks, Bud!!!!
