 a photo a day.....
flippin' pancakes..........

Tie dye and chocolate chip, no less!  (but they have whole wheat flour in them!)

We have good friends visiting- they moved away from us once upon 18 months ago, and we all here in our community of friends, are enjoying them immensely.  Park days, slumber parties, laughing, crying, food-some good and organic, some junky and very satisfying.  It's been a whirlwind week, but a happy one.

So this morning, after the slumber party, when I opened the fridge to gather pancake supplies, I found that I still didn't have eggs.  I'd be darned if I put avocado in my pancakes, though!  I'm not that progressive!    Besides, I don't even have avacadoes left anymore.  Fortunately, I had a mushy banana.

It's funny how we grow up with our notions of cooking and baking- I didn't know people *didn't* put eggs in their burgers!  I guess I applied that message I heard and saw while growing up. A technique handed down through the generations. So now I know it ain't necessarily so, and can make burgers without the eggs- thanks, you guys!

Tie dye and chocolate chip pancakes! So creative!

The best burgers are freshly ground meat with a spinch of salt and pepper, quickly [the longer you handle the meat the more the protein is affected and the tougher the burger can be] and adeptly formed into patties and cooked any way you wish really. The toppings are up to you!

Those look fun AND yummy! And I love how you caught the motion of the flip with your choice of shutter speed.

I made chocolate chip scones on Valentine's Day that were lovely and I was thinking of making them again. Your chocolate chip pancakes are inspiring me!

That's so funny, Crunch, because when I was reading your egg/avocado story I thought you were talking about making vegie burgers ...until I got to the ground beef part! I didn't know some people used eggs in their burgers. (I thought it was always just the meat.)

But now I *really* wanna try the avocado thing!

Hey I didn't know you could buy a bread mix until this week either. Your pancakes look great. We might try that in the a.m.
