 Happy Easter
Courtesy of our beautiful White Lady Banks "Tombstone" Rose.....

The misty effect came from burying the camera lens in the rose bush.  The blooms in the extreme forground of the shot (the blooms right up close to the lens) were extremely out of focus, creating the misty look.  Manual focusing ability really helps here for focusing on the subject you want.  But I have also done it with our point-and-shoot camera, on the telephoto setting,  and just stepped forward or backwards (to increase/decrease the focal length) till the main subject is in focus.

(I used the 70-300mm lens here, on a tripod, ISO 100, with shutter speeds around 80-100, around f 5.6- the largest aperature my camera allowed).

and.......

The Easter Beagle, circa 6am:

A joyous and beautiful day to everyone!
