 Happy Birthday, Fireagate!!!!!!
She's having a milestone birthday today, folks!!!!!  Please go on over for a visit and wish her a happy day!

A photo-a-day: Celebrating with fireworks!
A tribute to Fireagate's birthday- this post is dedicated to you, Friend!

These were taken at last night's fireworks show.  We were about a 1/2 mile away from the show, with a few other introverted folks who would rather sit quietly back from the crowd, have snacks from their own coolers, and not be stuck in the bottleneck when everyone leaves at once....Happy Fourth!!

I couldn't resist taking the camera off the tripod and doing a little motion swirl-painting:

I took over 100 photos.  Daughter took a few, too- we had the camera on the tripod, manual mode, shutter on bulb setting, and used a cable release.  Aperture was at f22.  300 mm lens.  We had a dry, dusty, windy storm cell passing to the north and east of us during the show.  The challenge was to make sure the fireworks were in the frame of view, as they were blowing all over the place.  I'll put other photos up on y photoblog later, in case  you are in the mood for  looking at more fireworks.

Here are other photo-a-day participants....go on over and say hello!

We, too, sat a ways off from the main action.  GREAT stuff!  I like the one where the firework looks like a dandelion, too, hehe.

The swirly thing is *so* over my head photography-wise, but certainly enjoyed.

And thanks for introducing us to Firestorm!

Geez...Thanks for the bday wish. It's funny, but when I was in my early 20's??? I remember seeing comercials about beauty products. They would show models and say guess how old she is...and she'd end up being 38...40...42 and I would think - wow they don't look that old. And now I'm thinking -wow I don't look that old and I never used any of their products.

I took some firework pictures too, but of couse they don't look as good as yours. Can't wait to learn how to use the manual settings!
