When you least expect it....

Just like when you plant a garden.  You expect everything that you plant to grow and be beautiful and yummy.  You have it all outlined in your brain.  But then the unexpected beauties  grow too...and enrich the garden, and you are reminded that many blessings in your life are unexpected.

Like this leek going to seed in my garden.  Isn't it beautiful?  I had two leeks in my garden last year, but they withered in the middle of the summer, and I pulled out the witherings in the fall.  I thought there were no more leeks.  I thought so!  But now I have 2 more leeks in the garden, and they went to seed.  Beautiful flowers!  I didn't know they grw such beautiful and exotic-looking flowers.

It's like my neighbor.  SHe's been theere since ds was a baby.  We've waived over the years in passing.  I've notced the last year that her son (my son's age) is home durning the day all year round.  We met last night, and they are homeschooling!  ANd their middle son is indeed my son's age.  WHo would have known that we had a homeschooling family...in our neighborhood?

Life gives you people and opportunities and gifts when you least expect them....

I had no idea, either, that leek blossoms were so beautiful!

That's so cool and amazing!  (about the homeschooling neighbors)... I know you've felt like you've had NO community around - hopefully they will work out as friends for you and your son :)
