Where was I?  I think with #16...this will be an "I love" theme...

16. I love taking pictures of flowers.  I love taking pictures of places we go and people I love too..but especially flowers.

17.  I love the pale-white glow of full moonlight.  Espacially when it is bright enough to cast shadows, and make snow glisten like diamonds.

18.  One of my fondest memories with my dh is sitting next to him at the south rim of the Grand Canyon  one evening...looking at it in the full moonlight.

19.  Music moves me so.  It is so full and rich, yet so transparent...it is there one moment, and not the next....the divine working through humans....

20.  I have to agree with Morrganna...I love to walk on the beach on the firm sand, too!  And feel it wwash away under my feet, and feel my feet sinking down into it.

21. I love being and working in my garden at sunset in the late spring..feeling the gentle breeze...now finally warm and soft.

22.  I love smelling the baby-kid smell of my children while they are sleeping.

23.  I love sitting on my porch swing, looking at the stars, and hearing the tinkling of my smallest windchime in the warm breeze.

24. At the end of the day, while everyone is asleep, I love sitting out in the backyard in my favorite lounge chair, looking up at the stars while chatting with my far-away friend. (while the sun is up over there)

25.  I love taking walk at night... looking into the illuminated windows of the passing houses, and seeing how people decorate.

I feel the same way about music.

I remember driving through town once on our way to our school band concert looking through everyone's windows at their Christmas trees. That was fun.

Ohh GInny...walking on the beach at night with nobody around! That's so nice! I've done that once..last summer in NJ at 2am. My daughter couldn't sleep (after an evening nap that refreshed her to stay up all night) We walked out on the open, dark sand, smelling the salt water, hearing the gentle crash of waves at low tide. There were sounds of the boardwalk that were still ongoing, but subdued, andt a couple was wrapped around each other on the beach a ways away.

I hadn't been in the presence of the ocean in many many years, and it was my first encounter with it in all that time. I had forgotten the immensity of the ocean , and sure felt it then.

Lovely daisy photo! I love taking pictures of flowers, too -- I just recently got my first serious camera and I've been having a ball experimenting. What kind of camera do you use and what are your favorite conditions for shooting flower pics?

Thanks! I have a Nikon2100 digital. It has an optical zoom, so the close-ups are nice and sharp. It goes into digital zoom with the real-close-up shots, and is still very nice. I love this camera!

I like shooting flowers in indirect lighting mostly..I seem to get truer colors that way..and I like the soft light. Just recently experimenting with backlighting. I like the dark background in your last several photos...it's great! Did you shoot at sunset? Use the flash?

Crunchy...your fellow shutter bug! (-:

I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel and yes, the photos with of the clover and lightning bug were taken around dusk. The lightning bug shot was with a flash. I'm planning to get a 100mm macro lens soon and hope that will give me even more opportunities to have fun with flower and insect pictures! I'm also a big fan of trying to use indirect light (open shade, overcast days, etc.) with nature photography -- I agree that the color is truer. Better for portraits, too, since you don't get harsh shadows or squity eyes like you do in bright sun! I've been having fun trying to adjust the camera to get good shots of my indoor cats, backlit from a sunny window. I've had some moderate success. Isn't photography a blast?
