Credit at the Car Wash

After last night's funny dirty rain, it was determined that we should wash the brown residue off of the white car.  We pulled up to the Gary Wertz fruity smelling automatic car wash here in Brighton and pulled out a fiver to put into the machine.  The little screen with blue letters said "$10 Credit" ... I wondered how there could be credit on the machine, but went ahead and pushed the $5 wash button which caused the machine to dump $5 worth of quarters into the change holder.  The light in the car wash came on beckoning us come on in, so we pulled into the misty confines of the bay and emerged 4 minutes later a clean machine!  We pulled around to the maintenance room, which was open but no one was on duty.  A phone number was provided on the sign so I called and left a message.  Now we will see if there really is such a thing as a "free car wash" ... hmm

           Poor Birdie !

The little fella just came into our lives one day and then he was gone -

we sure hope he found what he was looking for in life, and that he will always get his worms!

This Monday I am planning to leave for London to encourage the brethren there.

Please pray for me ... Thanks!

Reminds me of my first flight:

The plane was out of the hangar, but I wasn't.

Tom, you're a Card...and you're going to be dealt with!

Regarding car washes; a few mornings ago I got up and Kimber announced a branch had fallen on my car! It had just missed but the branches had marred the side. I took it to the Eagle car wash where I was told that "detailing" would clean most of it off. Sure enough, in couple of hours it looked like new and my billfold was $96 lighter plus tip!

The picture shows you at Richards-Gebaur at an air show.Fond memories! Godspeed on your trip.

Ha! Ha! funny about your first airplane ride. . .tho maybe that doesn't count if it didn't go up in the air  ~~ Well, it must be your family's year for baby bird stories.  The little robin looked adorable.  I hope he made it.  ~~  Scary about what is going on with the airlines.  Are you still going?  You are in our prayers,  (DEFINITELY!!! ), for your safety and for your edifying them.  ~~  About the car wash. . .maybe someone ahead of you put in extra money for the next person.  Some people do things like that -- "Random Acts of Kindness."  Very nice of YOU to find out about it tho.   Dirty rain??? What's that about?

Hope the London trip goes well.  What a bonus at the car wash!

As always, I enjoy the trip-down-memory-lan photos, especially those of your parents.  They certainly were a sophisticated looking couple.

Didn't something happen the last time you were in London, or perhaps it was just prior or after?  Just seems like there was a terror event of some type.  I know it wasn't the bombings, b/c we were in Eminence together when that happened.  Oh, well, fill me in if you remember details.

Thanks, Tom!  I stumbled across your site via google a few months ago, and I just recently began clicking my way around the other sites and subscribing (now that I'm back to the fast internet).  I was in the London a couple months ago for a summer study abroad program and pray that you will have a safe and successful journey.

I wonder if the same little bird was in your neighbors yard sometime in early August? A very vocal species was seen trying to enter the garage, but quickly disappeared when approached. We experienced very strong winds a few days earlier that may have ejected it from the nest.
