Welcome to TWISTED TUESDAY, where a tale of strange truths be told. What you are about to read has been validated by many witnesses and has been documented and recorded. Follow the link after this chilling tale to some eye opening photos.
Now, turn down the lights....make sure no one is watching you....and carefully read on.......
The stigma that comes with the words "mental institute" is usually one dipicting a visual of crazed inhabitants that live in chaos and confinement. Many years ago, mental institutes were typically known as "insane asylums" that were rumored to themselves be part of the mysterious events that helped mold the eerie feelings brought on by these two words. One such center was the Athens Mental Health Center in Ohio.
This center opened in the late 1800's, for the criminally insane, on land that was purchased from a local farmer. Though now a University campus, stories surrounding the happenings within the center still roam.
The Athens Mental Health Center was known for it's strange occurrances. There were stories of unbelievable torture, stories of inconceivable treatment practices. But perhaps one of the most bizarre and inexplainable stories yet is that of escaped inmate, Margaret Schilling.
It was told she escaped a few days before the center's closing in 1979. No one ever saw her and the search for her was brief. Some time later, (it is not known exactly how much time had passed), a maintenance worker came upon a gruesome discovery. He found a decomposed body on the floor in one of the ward's attics. That body was later found to be that of Margaret's, who was determined to have died from starvation.
There was a stain on the floor in the outline of Margaret's body. Officials stated this was not uncommon and continued on the cleanup. Weeks later, the outline reappeared and baffled workers. Again the attempt was made to remove the stain, and again it reappeared.
No one can understand why this continues to happen, but many believe it returns as a reminder of what once was....of the chilling torments this woman must have had.
The spot where she laid is now part of the tour campus students take, and can be seen here.
i wanna read more
