THAT'S WHAT DIVORCED COWORKERS ARE FOR!
Wow. Was that a great weekend or what?! Cooler air. Quality time at home or with the family. Small meaningful excursions. And new furniture.
New furniture?
lol
Yesterday we had visitors over for early morning breakfast----the MIL!! *dum dum dee dum!*
Yes, Sunday morning we spent it with the in-laws and eating some home cooking.....mmmmmmmmm. They came also to 'check out' the new home. (of course, you didn't think they'd only come to see us did you??? ) So, by mid-morning everyone had a full tummy, gossip and we survived the inspection. LOL
The only drawback was my dining room table. It is a round 4 chair table. Not exactly room for 6 adults and 3 kids eh? And the hub at this very moment mentioned to me that one of his co-workers (a divorced homeowner) had told him he had a surplus of furniture and other junk that he wanted to get rid of (for a small price).
See, his brother died unexpectedly and left him all his belongings. He had picked up all the stuff last weekend and his house was practically unwalkable---to much shit (for lack of a better word).
Anyway, it was as if this guy read our minds because not 2 hours later he calls.
Long story short, we went over to check out the goods, and he had a near new dinnette set! This one was lightly stained and had an extender sleave!!! So guess what?? He gave it to us (for 150.00) and we get to pay him when we can....woohoo!!!
But he also gave us a very well kept bedroom dresser set too for the boy. My son was thrilled to finally have a place to keep his underwear!! LOL (his old one we threw away when we moved)
So, I made dinner last night while the guys were hauling over the furniture. I made this coworker friend a plate as well. It was stuffed salmon and crab cakes. But the guy didn't stay. He had left his garage door wide open and since he has 3 motorcycles, yes, 3!!!, he was in a hurry to get back. I don't blame him.
Anyway, I spent most of last night organizing my son's room and setting up the new dinette table.
It was fun.
ahhhhh.....what a great weekend that was. My teen years are just going to have to wait..this blog is friking long already!! lol
have a good monday.
