| | Bringing Home Your Work for Fun??
My husband just gets giddy over this.
He nearly jumped for joy and clapped his hands simultaneously when he asked how my first day of classes went and I told him all my classes seem like fun (they're almost all art classes )--- EXCEPT for the one subject I held off until my final year---- BIO.
It's not that I loathe the subject. I actually think it's very interesting. But what I can't keep my concentration on are all the formulas and conversions and 'math' part of it all. And this is where my hub stepped in, did his little song and dance and told me he wanted to 'tutor' me.
Oh GAWD!
So last night, he wanted to see the class syllabus, the assignments sheet and textbook. He began to teach me right then and there....showing me how to convert, asking me if I knew objects, vocabulary, etc. And he had this beaming look in his eye as he was tutoring me.
Keep in mind I never opened my mouth to say, "hun, I need your help." All I said was, "The profs are great, but I can tell it's going to be my least favorite class...." and he sprang out of the room and came back in a flash with his old bio book and lab manual in hand, before I had time to finish my sentence. All I felt was a cool breeze zip past me while I spoke.
So there we were sitting on the bed, books opened and papers scattered all over and I watched and listened as he proudly lectured and compared and drew and explained. He had a huge smile on his face and I believe he taught me a thing or two without me even realizing it.

He is damn good at what he does.

I want to be just like him --- love what I do and do what I love.
I'm almost sure if I happened to stop by unannounced for a visit at work he'd be working in the exact same fashion as he had last night. With enthusiasm and care.
I told him I appreciated his help and his desire to want to see me understand what he easily does. It's not everyone who can go to work and like what they do.
So my semester is proving to be at least an interesting one, if not, probably one of my better ones.
