  • Mikey's 1st year Anniversary!!!

A year ago, there was a stray puppy smelling the roses outside our house. My sister found the puppy in the morning on her way to school, and the puppy was surprisingly still there at night. It seemed like no one owns him so my sisters and my dad decided to let him in inside the backyard, since we're worried that he might get runover by cars in the middle of the night. We fed him (though he was a little aloof and picky) and he seemed at ease with my sisters. Back then, i was too scared to touch him because I didn't know if he was immunized against rabies or what. Back then, i didn't realize I could love a dog this much.

    Mikey's first photograph ever

He was so playful and heresponded when my sisters were calling him "Mikey". Just to let you guys know we used to have a dog in the Philippines named "Mikey" but we left him when we had to live here in the US. So it was surprising that the puppy responded when he was called that name, so from then on he was named Mikey.

We waited for like a month for somebody to claim him, if maybe a neighbor owns him. Then we eventually went to the vet to get him checked if he has a microchip, but he didn't, meaning nobody really owns him. At that time we got him his immunizations and finally adopted him. We also found out from the vet that Mikey is a half-breed chihuahua and pomeranian. He also said that Mikey was 8 months old (human years) at that time. It was interesting how he could tell just by looking at Mikey's canines.

    love those puppy eyes

Mikey's look when asking for food

Until now, it remains a mystery where Mikey came from. But he definitely showed up on the right door because he's well loved by everybody in this house. He's our little baby brother!

    Happy anniversary Mikey!!! Love!

    Nursing anti-stress kit

I was cleaning up my school stuff the other day and found this "anti-stress kit" that the nursing program gave out in the orientation day. Now that I'm graduating, it just makes me smile reminiscing a little bit of my nursing life this past three years.

    The note reads:
    Anti-stress Kit

Eraser - so you can erase your mistakes
Marbles - so no one can say you've lost yours
Pennies - so you won't be broke
Rubber band - so you can stretch beyond your limit
String - so you can tie it all together
Kiss - so you will know you are loved!

The anti-stress ways take more than a kit though, hehe...Nursing is still super stressful after all!

Btw, I just took my last college final yesterday. Now I'm finally done with school forever and ever!!! (unless i decide to take my Masters someday, but that'll come later, hehe..)

Just waiting for graduation to officially call myself a college graduate. 15 more days left baby!!!

One more step to go until I call myself a full-pledge RN BSN!

And here comes our last fundraising event for graduation...

Please support!!! One last event guys!

    Let's party and celebrate!!!

    Good movies last weekend!

Of course I saw "Made of Honor" and I absolutely loved it! I agree with some people saying that it's a cliche story and similar to "My bestfriend's Wedding" and given the romantic side of me it's a given that i'm gonna love it! The story and the ending was predictable though, and *spoiler** it must suck for the must-be-groom that the wedding didn't happen. His family must've been pissed off, if that happens in real life.

Saw this movie too and I also liked it, knowing that i had no clue about what this movie was about before seeing it. I liked Robert Downey Jr's acting and I loved him in that 80's movie, "Chances are" way back. I think his superhero character is fresh and funny. Just a tip if you haven't seen it yet, stay til after the credits are over. There's an interesting scene supposedly, Mike and I actually missed that so yeah don't leave right away. I read that this movie already has a remake that's due on 2010 release date.

    Next movie to watch....

I'm loving this song by Sara Bareilles. I officially added her to my most favorite singers list. She's got a smooth voice and her songs are catchy. I'll grab her album actually! Here's the mp3..

    Gravity
    (Sara Bareilles)

Something always brings me back to you
    It never takes too long
No matter what I say or do, I still feel you here 'till the moment I'm gone

    You hold me without touch.
    You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much than to drown in your love and not feel your rain.

    Chorus
Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be
But you're on to me and all over me

You loved me 'cause I'm fragile
When I thought that I was strong
But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone...

I live here on my knees as I
Try to make you see that you're
Everything I think I need here on the ground
But you're neither friend nor foe though I
Can't seem to let you go
The one thing that I still know is that you're keeping me down
    You're keeping me down, yeah
But you're onto me, onto me and all over

Something always brings me back to you
    It never takes too long
    ----------------//
And i finally got to sing this song I've been wanting to record for the longest time, "Just because"

Oh my! Isang taon na sa inyo si Mikey! Whoopeedoo! You know I have a soft spot for animals and I'm really glad that your family was the one who saw Mikey` coz as I can see, you are taking very good care of him. Na-touch `nga ako kasi ganu'n niyo pala nakita si Mikey. Parang nandun lang siya nag-stay sa inyo from morning till night. I don't want to think what could have happened kung hindi niyo siya kinuha. Look at Mikey now. So cute. So happy.

Ganda ng Iron Man `no? I watched it too. =) You love Chances Are too?  Sometimes I think you are an old soul kasi kahit super laki ng age gap natin, you like the 80's as much as I do. Anyways, iyak kaya ako du'n. Kasi parang bittersweet naman `yung story. Love do transcends time, space and even death. Ang ganda pa ng soundtrack!

Robert Downey Jr. is definitely a good actor, medyo messed-up `nga lang ang buhay niya when he got involved with drugs and all those scandals.

BTW, ngayon ko lang napansin `yung avatar sa sidebar mo. "I save your ass, not kiss it!" - that's hilarious! =)
