| | Neighborhood was active tonight.
Some guy stole a car, leading to a high-speed chase with the LA County sheriffs and Inglewood PD. He got into an accident on Crenshaw and Century, which in my three years here has been the graveyard of a number of high-speed chases. He ran away from the scene and managed to get away from the cops initially by running into our apartment complex. That led to one of the largest concentrations of police I've ever seen here - about 5 vehicles at the Crenshaw/Century intersection, 3 blocking off the north end of "little Crenshaw", 3 blocking off the south end of "little Crenshaw" and the alley, 2 blocking off the other end of the alley, 2 blocking off 99th street, 1 in the 99th/little Crenshaw intersection, and a couple more going up and down Crenshaw itself at any time. They brought in a k9 unit and tracked the guy to our dumpster, where he had attempted to hide. He was peacefully arrested and the police filed out, and I got back to writing my lesson plans. Yet another night in da 'wood. |
