Well, it's that time again! Time for Myanmar New Year Festival! (Thingyan!)
Our office will be closed until the 20th, so I'll be back to office on 21st. Thingyan starts this Saturday (12th) and ends on 17th, and 11th, 18th and 19th are all holidays together. (Part of 10 Days Thingyan holiday).
I will be going to Bago this Sunday. It's just a day trip, and I hope that I get to take some photos there.. And yes, I'm sorry that I haven't been able to post Part 2 of the Indonesian trip.. I've been busy lately.. :P
So Happy Myanmar New Year everyone! *splashes water on everyone*

How are things in Burma at the moment? Do you think the pro-democracy protests have changed anything for better or worse?
I hope you have not been affected by the storm. From here it looks like it was a strong one.
Hi there.. just dropping by to see if you're ok - the cyclone is big news at the moment
Now I know the cyclone was very bad. I am praying for you and for the many people under that awful storm.
I've been watching the news concerning the cyclone and I hope that you are ok
Hi Dawn,
I've heard about they cyclone there on the news. I hope that you and your family are ok. I'm praying for you guys.
I was thinking the same as everyone else above... not to mention that you have not posted a blog in quite a long time.
22.000 to maybe 60.000 now. I am horrified. I hope the government will quickly allow the Americans in to help. No one in this world can help in such a disaster more or faster than America can. I continue to pray for your own safety and your family.
Hello Dawn, just wondering if you were ok- same as everyone else, I guess. I hope you get the chance soon to let us know how you're doing and how Burma is coping with the after effects of the cyclone. I live in the Caribbean, so I know a bit about how devastating a storm can be. My prayers are with you and your country.
Just noticed the comment by cafengocmy that "No on in this world can help in such a disaster more or faster than America can."
That just made me instantly think of Hurricane Katrina and the people of New Orleans...I guess the swiftness of your government's response depends on the kind of people being helped...
@CaribbeanLionesse - At the risk of sounding churlish, that was my first thought, too
But I hope everyone in Burma is getting the help they need as fast as possible - there are appeals going on over here to raise money for the British Red Cross and other disaster relief agencies. I hope it's all reaching the places it's needed most
I hope you and your family are okay, Dawn - We're thinking about you. I hope to see a post from you soon
I hope you and family are OK. I am worried sick thinking about all over there.
Sis

Hi Dawn from your blog-reader friend in Taiwan.
We are all worried about you. I know you probably don't have power, but I just wanted to know that we're thinking about you. We all wait with hope when you can make contact and let us know you and your family are safe.
Hi everyone. I'm sorry but I can't update my blog right now cos internet connection has been so slow and I can barely browse. I'm ok so far, and my house is fine too... Though I can't say the same for my fellow people in other parts of the city, and in other storm-hit regions. Thanks everyone for your concerns and contributions. :)
