I don't even know where to begin writing. I just got to read the whole news today, and saw the photos of the devastations.. and the bodies.. The bodies floating on water, with their legs and arms spread out. I feel so sad for them, and so angry.
I had always opposed a US-led invasion to Myanmar, but right now, I'm ready to say, "Bring it on" for the sake of humanitarian intervention.
I am also pissed at those greedy merchants who took advantage of the situation and raised the prices, or don't sell their goods until everyone else had ran out and raised the prices. During the last week, a single egg cost 300 Ks. ($0.30), rising from 130 Ks. ($1.30) ! Unthinkable! They'll go to hell together with the rest of the top people. Definitely.

I know you don't know who I am, but I have you and your country in my prayers.
I started reading your blogs awhile ago to get a different perspective of what was going on there politically,
It hurts me to know what is going on there now, I can't even imagine what you are going through.
I'm glad you're safe, and hope you remain so.
@liebe_lisi_86 - thanks for your concern :)
You won't know me, either, but I've been reading you for a while, and I'm so relieved to see you post. I hope that you're able to see the aid reaching Burma and that people don't view it as an invasion
Dawn - I'm so glad that you are safe, but shocked and angry at what is happening. You and your people are in my thoughts and prayers, always. Namaste.
This situation is infuriating. It is time for the UN to stop sitting on its hands and DO SOMETHING.
hello
you may not know me but i am Myanmar citizen just like you. However, i am in the UK so i am pretty cut off from what's going on in my country. I am pretty pissed at the deeds of the military junta too. I really hope the US led-invasion would become a reality. We have had enough of the god-damn junta and we are ready to risk a few lives for the sake of many.
Thank you!
From one Myanmar to other!
Dawn,
So glad to see your posts. I am beyond tears and outrage. There is no word to describe what I feel. What can we do? What can I do? The spirits of our people (like you and my family) are amazing, and I am in awe of your strength and endurance. Peace be with you and all at home.
I am sad that you have to see the sadness around you.... and the feelings of anger that you must feel too. I pray your people will unite and come together for good.
I don't know what is in store for the future of your country, of course -- but I pray that your family and friends will be safe -- and that perhaps the Myanmar government will finally see a need for change, and that the people's voices will be heard -- and that the government will begin to reflect that they are there to serve the needs of the people of your land --- and not their own needs or wants.
i actually had not heard of this. but i rarely watch the news these days. i wish the best for you.
Oh wow! You can hardly imagine the wave of relief that washed over me when I checked and saw that you had updated your blog. I'm so, so very glad to see that you are at least alive and better yet that you are able to blog and give us some idea of what is going on.
Be strong. The prayers of the world are with you - we wish there was more we could offer- if only we were allowed.
