His music is so tortured at times yet resolves in an unspeakably
luscious manner. I don't care if that's the wrong usage of that word
either :)

Suspensions, chromatic scales,
Russianness, enough uniqueness yet not too much unfaithfulness to
Western tonality, soaring and recognizable themes, and above all,
passion....
