Feeling a little better today. My daughter just paid me a compliment this morning. She decided to get her hair cut and colored at 7 o'clock this morning, so I cut it and now she is sitting with the color on it. We had already discussed this and I picked the color out for her. She wants to be a redhead like her momma. She was telling me horror stories about when her friends went to the hairdressers, and informed me that if I hadn't been a hairdresser that she wouldn't ever have her hair done because of what her friends came home with. To date, she has brought many of these friends over to have me "fix" them up after a disappointing trip to the beauty shop.

The thing is that most of these were decent haircuts. The girls just don't know what to ask for, so I make them show me a picture. I can do anything that you can show me as long as your hair is suited for it, but I don't do it anymore. I did hair for many years and got so bored with it that I quit. It still bores me so I only do my families...until my daughter coerces me into doing her girlfriends. Then I moan and groan, but I still do it. It's hard to say no when these little girls all call me "mom" and beg so sweetly.

Doing hair is kind of like art. You can make a mess out of that too if you're not careful. Well, I guess it's back to work for me. I have to go see what my little redhead looks like.

And my two latest dolls. They still need a few touch ups.

Cute dolls.

Bored? I recall 'BP.' Or was that Doug's excuse for you not doing mine when I asked?

aren't you a dear one!  My daughter doesn't do "boys" so my stylist's partner's sister cuts her hair.  WHEW!!!

I never know what to do with my hair.  I have been wanting to experiment with the color for years, but have been too chicken after some of the stories I have heard.

I actually stood in wal mart once for over an hour, trying to pick a hair color.  I finally got one, went home and used it.  I could not see a difference.  I had gotten the same shade my hair already was!!

No, Myrene, you know that was the truth but I quit working at it out of boredom and medical problems. I just don't particularly care to talk about being sick all the time. Besides that, it's not legal to do hair when you allow your license to expire. If someone didn't like what you did and you have no license, then it  can only lead to trouble. BIG trouble, and I prefer to stay within the law. The only way I will do Amber's friends is if their mothers will sign a release for me up front. Otherwise, they can go to the beauty shop again and pay for it.

At least you can do it. My mom would cut my hair (and denies it now) and screw it up so I looked like a boy!

They don't license dog groomers here...but they should...one of the local hairdressers decided that there was more money in grooming...you should SEE what SHE does to dogs! LOL I can cut dog hair, I can cut my own hair if I have to, but I don't dare try to do people...why does she think SHE is qualified to do a dog? LOL

In our current sue-happy society, it doesn't much matter if one is licensed to do whatever or not, for fear of legal reprisal if the other decides to pursue the other, justified or not. (Money is the issue, not true satisfaction.) You did tell me a few times that Doug said no & I know how little he cared about me then. Just like what you said about taking me dancing with you guys sometime, which never happened, even though other friends (even Ronny) did go with you. I guess I should have learned back then what level our supposed friendship was. I'm just too hopeful, I guess, that I could really be important to another person for what reality points out.

Myrene, I did invite you and I did want you to go, but I can't help it that Doug didn't like you and so he said no. If you recall, you and he argued every single time you spoke to each other, (and not nicely either) and when going out to a country and western bar, that's just what's needed to start a problem, esp with drinking. BUT if you didn't notice, I will point this out to you. I could have dropped you as a friend because he disliked you so much...OR....I could have dropped him. I did neither, until you pushed me into losing my temper with you. I don't let anybody tell me who I can and can not talk to. Not him. Not you. I don't let him tell me what to do either. If I do something he asks, it's because I can see the wisdom of what he says. I saw his point. You two were like a match to a lighter...both trying to start something that neither one of you could put out. I had to interfere every single time. Anything else you want to complain about?
