*sighs* I don't know how many of you remember the flood we had here in Texas not so long ago, the one that flooded my house, and kept Texas underwater for so long. Well, now I am worrying that it's going to happen again. It started raining here, and hasn't really stopped since, and they are predicting more rain for the next 5 days....at least. More storms, more rain, more lightening....

And yeah, to follow up on the last post, I know Doug loves me, but he can be a bit over protective at times....and this from a man that goes out and tracks mountain lions, javelinas, and whatever else there happens to be in the woods......and tells me not to worry. *snorts* We have rattlesnakes here as big around as my leg and probably as long as I am tall or more, and I'm not supposed to worry? Maybe I should just go hunting with him from now on...ya' think?

Nah, I wouldn't have stayed with Doug this long if he overdid it. I had one ex that was so jealous and obssessive that I couldn't stand it. He's now history.

I know Doug well enough to know that when he has a problem with anything, that he, at least, believes he has a good reason for it, and ever since that thing with the acid, he has blamed himself for it, which in turn, has caused him to be more loving, but also more protective. Just give him some time, and he'll get over it. (I keep telling myself this. ) He keeps bringing up the fact that he thought he had lost me for good, so that's why he's acting so over protective, I'm sure.

And I had to laugh at tdsdrkeyes comment. Yeah, Doug is a lot like me. He doesn't care how pissed I get if he's worried. I doubt it would surprise any of you to know that Doug and I are a lot alike. Generally, we agree on things, which is a good thing, considering how stubborn and bullheaded we both are. lol! And we're both the type that if we have something to say, then we say it straight out, and no lollygagging around. Also if we want to do something, then we'll damned well do it. It's a good thing we both love each other, and rarely fight, or we'd probably kill each other, if it came right down to it.

Okay, now my weekend begins and I'll see everybody on Tuesday evening, Goddess willing. Think you all can behave that long? At least, until I get back, so I won't miss anything?

There are a couple of reasons why I'm glad I don't live in Texas... rattlesnakes being just one of them. There are also a couple of reasons why it would be kinda nice .
See ya Tuesday... if I decide to misbehave while you're gone I'll email you the details LOL

Sandhills area is higher ground, so out of the flood plain (most of it anyway). Although the roads might flood (what Texas road does not in heavy rains, since the Highway Dept thinks it does not rain in Texas? ), isolating you like it did in the trailer park.

I hope the rains are at least light. But maybe they'll wash the snakes into some other part of the country????

I hope you're feeling better. I am happy that you rest when you know you have to. You're just too derned young to be pestered with the symptoms you have. Makes my heart grieve a bit. But my prayers can move mountains and you are in them, my dear!

Have a nice, comfortable, pleasureable weekend.

I hope for you that nightmare doesn't repeat itself.

I'm very happy for you that he shows he cares. You both might be bullheaded and stubborn, you two also have great love to share.

That's most important.

I'll try to behave, no promises

It's funny...when you're doing something dangerous yourself, you dont' really worry about it, cause you're doing it and you're in charge. But when somebody else is doing something dangerous it's so easy to worry cause you're not in charge and you're not doing it yourself!

You said the acid was muriatic acid. That is the old name for hydrochloric acid, HCl. When you use it, it gives off chlorine gas, which is highly corrosive to the lungs as you found out.

Many people use more common household chemicals to generate chlorine gas to destroy their lungs. All you have to do is mix Chlorox with vinegar. My wife likes to clean with Chlorox and she doesn't use adequate ventilation ... then she wonders why her body hurts all over when she finishes.
