We're having puppies!! She's had 3 so far, but one was dead.

Now this next paragraph is going to be about something gross, so if you're weak of stomach, don't read it.

Do you guys remember when we picked up that little pup that puked in the car and made Amber and Doug gag and have to stop the car? I know if you recall that blog, then you'll remember that I made fun of him. Well, earlier this evening, it was my turn to get made fun of.

First of all, let me tell you I have an extremely strong stomach. Nothing, and I do mean nothing has ever made me gag. In fact, my brother used to talk all kinds of shit at the dinner table, trying to gross everybody out, and he did a damned fine job....except with me. Nothing bothered me. I didn't moan and groan, nor did I stop eating...no matter what the subject. Even bad smells wouldn't do it.

But earlier as I watched my dog have puppies, I nearly puked. Not because she had them. I helped with that part of it, but unlike people, dogs eat the afterbirth. Well, she did her job good and proper. Then she threw it back up and ate it again. *gag* I had to leave the room. Between gagging and laughing at myself, I ran for the bathroom. lol! Didn't puke but it was a near thing. And it wasn't the smell. I don't think I smelled a thing. It was just the thought of it. Blech! I'm damn sure glad I'm not an animal.

Gotta run. She's ready again, I think.

That is pretty gross alright. You would have loved it here one night when my cat took a mouse under my daughter's bed and ate it, he then came into our bedroom and threw it back up. I hid under the covers while The Virgo got rid of it .

That's actually kind of unusal...

Maybe that was when she ate the dead puppie's afterbirth...

I have witnessed more puppy births that I can ever recount. (my parents were breeders when I was very young and the birthing of puppies was always an exciting thing around our place...) But I don't think I've ever recollected a dog regurgitating the afterbirth...In fact, now that I think about it, my parents would clear away the afterbirth from any puppies that hadn't survived or were still-born...that may be why...

Congrats on the puppies! Let us know how many that are in the end! :)

Haha first time i saw my cat give birth i thought its guts were coming outta its but! I was only 9yrs old so i yelled for my mum and then i realised what they were when she licked them. It didn't gross me out at all. The miracle of life is too amazing! Anyway, put up pix of the puppies!! BTW, i know it may sound weird, but smell your puppies breath, it ALWAYS smells the same on ALL puppies, it's strange!
