  • How did HE tell YOU today?

    Thinking.

Thinking about the many ways that God says I love you to us all. My Bible tells me so.

Thinking about the many ways that God continues to say, "I love you Cindy." Sometimes whispered, sometimes shouted, thru the everyday events of life and the careful orchestration of details that can only be explained as God arranged. You don't know about them unless I tell you.

    So I will.

Jacob made a new friend this week. Her name is Charlotte. She seems really nice and she promised never to shed on the furniture. She stays in his room and we aren't sure where she'll be when we enter. So it has become a kind of silly game that we play.
"Where is Charlotte now?", we ask, looking around.
"Is she hiding? Is she visiting family?"
Usually she is somewhere on the ceiling and Jacob laughs outloud when he finds her.
    "Funny pie-der," he says.
"What are [you] doin up there?", he wonders aloud.

And for the first time in my life, a for real spider is making me smile. All because of the privilege of seeing the world anew again, thru the eyes of an almost 3 year old little boy.

Jacob's speech teacher, Miss Lynne, came today not yet knowing about his new pet. Very seldom in her 15 months of visits has she brought books. Usually her big bag contains a cool assortment of educational toys, games and puzzles, but no books.

    Today, she brought a book.

A book about a funny spider.

    Jacob loved it.

As my little son laughed outloud at yet another funny "pie-der," I heard it.
    "I LOVE YOU."

Why in the world would the great big Creator of the Universe bother with the interests of a toddler except maybe to say I love you ?

How did HE tell you today?

Ahh what a wonder post!  You made me all misty.  He told me He loved me this morning when I heard that Miz' Louise went very docily to her neurologist's appointment yesterday.  Something we had specifically prayed for, but that we struggled to have faith for!  Prayer answered....definitely a heavenly hug!

He told me by reminding me that I have an awesome friend like Cindy who is back online...with pictures even...ahh life is good:)).  And it is a nice warm day, and my puppy loves me, and my children love Jesus, and I'm able to cook dinner for my sweet family, and ---- His blessings are new every morning and always worth waking up for!

OK - I'm going to bypass all the warm-fuzzies for a moment ... and say THAT is the pie-der living in Jacob's bedroom???    Yikes! It looks most menacing and horrific to me .. but that may be because I am a 34 year old female and no love whatsoever at all is lost between me and the pie-der species! Ack!  And with that out of the way ... I loved your post. And yes, HE loves me. I should make a list. It might help. Glad to have you back!

Wow!  What a comeback!  Great post!  I'm with Evanna on the spider thing.  I have 3 boys and would absolutely not allow one in the house.  My husband hates them too.   He doesn't even like to kill them.  JESUS loves me -he told me today in the voices of my little ones singing "JESUS loves me" :)

Taylor has begun her own insect collection and has a spider in it. And it is in the house. However, the spider is not alive:). And she also enjoys looking at books about insects and other creatures. The latest is a book about bats and I found a cute stuffed bat to match the book - she plays with the bat while we look at the book - much more to my liking than the real thing:).

Wait a minute, please know that I HATE spiders!  And Charlotte is not nearly as scary IRL as she is on xanga! The person that uploaded the photos did not even want the spider picture large and bigger than real life like that. But she is new to all this, so let's just be real patient with her!
