| | Step right up, get 'em while they're hot! (And thoughts about recovering ones' swagger.)
Today I'm going to attempt to post some preview images that we are
offering for sale, PERFECT for Christmas/Chanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus gifts. We are offering
print sizes 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x24, 24x30. (I have to verify
these sizes w/ Steve, but I think these are the sizes we offer.)
This is all original photography by the love of my life, the one and only Stephen A. Harmon. Nature scenes, historic places, sunsets, etc. Good stuff.
I need to calculate our prices so we can make a profit on this, because
as you know, the gods of money redistribution have not been in our
favor the past month or so! We are not used to
selling prints just for art's sake. He has wanted to start for a
long time, but we weren't sure how to even start. We thought we'd
have to set up and do arts & crafts shows or something. Only
recently did I realize we could email former customers and offer our
stuff here, and stuff like that. I mean, why not?
I'll post the previews here, then I'll post the link to Steve's online
ordering site, where you can place your orders. We accept checks,
money orders, paypal, and you can now pay by credit card via paypal w/o
even having to set up an account there, so by all means, charge away,
dear friends.
If you're unfamiliar w/ Steve's work and you want to get a preview of some of his stuff, visit his website at http://www.harmonfoto.com or http://www.harmonweddings.com.
Weddings are the majority of our business, but Steve has been shooting
professionally since he was a young mulleted redneck working for a
local rag at the age of 17. He obviously had a few years under
his belt before they hired him at that tender age. He's not just
technically proficient, he's got a great eye, and a distinctive
style. That is why he has won so many awards. In fact,
while he was in college they created an award at one point just so they
could hand him yet another one. Yeah, it's true. He likes
to brag, but you know what they say..."it ain't braggin' if it's the
truth!"
Still, he's too shy to start his own weblog, despite my pressuring him to do so at one point. Eh, I tried.
Another service Steve offers which I haven't really promoted much is
photo restoration and re-touching. He can take people completely
out of photos. He can add people to them. He can fix
broken, crumpled, water-stained & torn antique photos for the
geneology buff in your family. He charges an hourly rate for that
kind of work, but he's good, and he's pretty reasonable.
Well, there's my plug for now. This isn't like Tupperware, a
passing fascination that I knew I'd eventually get tired of. I
love Steve's work better than I love the music by my favorite
musicians. When Steve took a few years hiatus from shooting, my
heart was broken for him. He is so talented. It would be
like if Andre Segovia decided to take a few years off classical guitar
to...oh, I don't know...work at the car wash or something.
But sometimes you just have to do things, right? You are compelled to do them. And
Anyway, since Steve has been back, he's BACK. In more ways than
just professionally. He is fulfilled in many ways, he has the
confidence back that I remembered from our youth. The cocksure
photographer cliche exists for a reason. He walks the walk.
He's paid his dues. He knows his worth.
I hope you'll enjoy his selection of work.
Another good blog by my friend Jason.
